Welcome to Contact, a dynamic (and still a very much WIP) project that leads the player on their own adventure!
With a focus on technology and machinery, the player will be allowed to build massive factories full of automation using all of their favorite mods like Buildcraft, Mekanism, Thermal Dynamics, Forestry, Applied Energistics, Project Red, Steve's Carts and so on—as well as a multiplicity of options for generating power from mods like Big Reactors, Ender IO, Immersive Engineering, Mariculture, Advanced Generators, and more!
Decorate any home, base, or factory with furniture from Mr. Crayfishes Furniture Mod, triangular blocks from Carpenters Blocks, elevators, Chisel, and even catwalks and maintenance elevators!
As well as this, mods like Growthcraft allow for a more relaxing take on production.
But why settle down in one part of the map? I mean there's so much of the world to explore! With mods that expand the soundscape for a truly immersive experience, or Dynamic Trees which grow trees in real time and expand forests alike, the world in which the player travels will never feel boring.
Travel underground to caves littered with ores unheard of, or break into massive dungeons that open the doors to fantastic adventure and redeeming loot. Bind books together that lead you to beautiful or terrifying dimensions, or travel to the Twilight Forest for a dimension that is both beautiful AND terrifying. Travel the world with Portal Guns, Gravity Guns, or even a StarGate! Or create little soldier minions to fight with you or against each other for the ultimate source of entertainment. You can even fly beyond the atmosphere with Galacticraft and addons that introduce more planets.
Or explore the hidden world of Thaumcraft and become a powerful "steampunk wizard." With addons that integrate both the magic of Thaumcraft with the tech of other mods, the possibilities seem truly endless.
But beware. This world is not as wonderous as it seems. Monsters that hear your movement and smell your blood are lurking behind every tree, and dynamic weather—such as tornados—can threaten your base at any instant. (By the way, I don't recommend opening Pandoras Box...) It is important to build a defense using force fields, missiles, and turrets and to kit yourself up with power armor.
With a world so full of things that can go right or wrong, the adventure you lead will not only be decided by the steps you take, but by the world around you.
