Welcome to Project CTW. (Consume The World!)
Assigned a task from the mega-corporation you work for, Project CTW sends you to another planet to harvest resources and produce goods to send back to your corporation.
While on the planet, you'll be able to pursue a myriad of ways to impress the corporation and get promoted to ascend up the corporate ladder.
The tasks will be simple, then grow complex as you progress further. One way or another, you'll aim to become stronger.
Or perhaps you can throw away the quest book. Who wants to spend forever poring over mundane, endless tasks? Look around you, you could just abandon working for your corporation and explore the world on your own. Explore the different lands, technologies, and mobs the world has to offer without being confined to the strict tasks given to you. Your choice.
This pack is intended to highlight the IC2 Classic mod, harnessing what it has to offer to acquire everything in the world.
Designed to accommodate both veterans and people unfamiliar with IC2 Classic, the quest book is designed to assist you through learning IC2 Classic alongside the IC2 Classic wiki book.
Additionally, there is a particular way the quests are designed, so that the player is free to pursue whatever is most interesting to them.
Free to do whatever you want, this pack is designed to not force player through mechanics they would rather avoid.
With that philosophy in mind, there are zero progression gates where you have to go through an obscure mod to proceed further, as well as no gameplay elements locked behind a quest.
However you want to get stronger, whether you want to farm, explore, cook, or just mine, this pack will emphasize that you are in control of what you want to pursue.
This is not an Expert-style pack. However, there are optional quests to aim for, that have you demonstrate your mastery over different mechanics in this pack.
Design decisions influenced by the concepts and ideas expressed in other modpacks such the Material Energy Series, Agrarian Skies; as well as other video games like Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, interestingly enough.
RAM allocation recommendation: 4-6 GB, 6-8GB if Ferritecore has to be removed.
Server RAM allocation recommendation: 3-4GB for small servers, increase if necessary.
Special thanks to Speiger for allowing me to beta test IC2 Classic patches, as well as assisting me with datapack creation.
Additional thanks to the other developers in Speiger's Hideout discord server, for supporting me in learning ZenScript and expanding my ideas.
While this pack is fine as is to highlight IC2 Classic as the main tech mod, it is nearly perfectly accommodating if you wish to add in mods of your own.
Create can work with the pack just fine.
Mekanism has an infinite ore glitch that's possible, but is avoidable. (possible optional datapack/ZenScript downloadable in the future?) It also bypasses the finite water mechanic.
Thermal Series should also be just fine, however you may need an oreDict unification mod. Also bypasses the finite water mechanic.
Thanks to IC2 Classic's Flux Generators to convert EU to FE, mods that rely on FE should be just fine to support.
Looking for interesting seeds? Here's two recommendations
A balanced starting seed, relevant biomes are with reasonable distances: 7132014694499265230
A tougher starting seed, relevant biomes are further away. However, the complex network underneath the surface of spawn hold a great amount of minerals, provided one is diligent enough to hunt for it: -580031915861862950
With all that said, be ready to Consume The World!
