COBBLEVERSE 1.7.40 [CF]
What's new

COBBLEVERSE 1.7.40-CF
🧭 Exploration & Navigation
- Trainer Card Update: The trainer card now offers an option to view the series progress graph in-game (click the rotating arrows button to the left of the region name). This allows you to view the full list of trainers and Gym Leaders left to defeat all the way up to the Champion, along with the specific Level Cap for each of them
- Better Pokédex Scanner:
- Scanning with your Pokédex now provides detailed environmental data (biomes, weather, time) and party-based threat level coloring
- You can now scan Restoration Tanks to view the restoration progress, check the exact Pokémon inside, and register unseen Pokémon in your Pokédex directly through the tank
- Waystone Interface Overhaul:
- Added a scrollable waystone list, completely replacing the old pagination system
- Added personal aliases for waystones via a new "Personal Settings" button, allowing you to assign a custom name (perfect for multiplayer servers with generic names)
- Added a "Favorites" checkbox in the Personal Settings to pin frequently visited locations
- Added a "Sort" button to cycle the list between Manual, Alphabetic, and Distance
- Added a dedicated "Manage Waystones" screen, enabling drag-and-drop rearranging and safer deletion controls
- Waystone Filters & Groups: Added group filters to the selection screen, featuring built-in categories ("Global Waystones", "Favorites", and per-dimension tabs). You can also create personal, custom groups with unique text colors and icons
- New Waystone Variants: Added Red Nether Bricks, Purpur, Prismarine, and Mud Bricks Waystones
- New Exploration Items:
- Epitaph: Keeping this item in your inventory upon death will consume it and spawn a Fleeting Memorial at your death site. You can then use a waystone to teleport directly there (the option disappears once used)
- Twinbound Feather: Wave it against another player's feather to link them. If both players have their linked feathers, you can teleport directly to each other via any waystone
- Portal Scroll: Spawns a physical portal to a specific destination that lasts 5 minutes, allowing players, mobs, and items to pass through. Teleport back to it anytime by selecting the new "Return to Portal" option on a waystone
🐲 New Mega, G-Max & Animated Models
- New Animated Models: Mega Eelektross and Mega Scovillain.
- Gigantamax Additions: New G-Max models for Copperajah, Coalossal, Pikachu, and Blastoise
- Mega Evolutions Revamped: New animated models for Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, and Mega Salamence
- Zygarde: Added a new animated model for Zygarde Core
- Animation Overhauls: Improved existing animations for Meditite, Medicham, Minior and Zygarde 50%
👾 Pokémon Mechanics
- End Game Protection: A Shiny Rayquaza spawning in The End will no longer despawn if the player moves too far away before capturing it!
- Mega Stones: Removed unused Legacy Mega Stones from the game, as they have been fully succeeded and replaced by Mega Showdown stones
⚔️ Raids & Battles
- Dynamic Battle Overlay:
- Live Info: Added a draggable left-edge player party strip with hover panels for moves, PP, stats, ability, held item, and weaknesses that activates during wild and trainer battles
- Opponent HUD: Added a draggable right-side opponent info strip that preserves revealed opponent battle info across switches
- Starter Adjustments: Selecting Pikachu as your starter Pokémon now grants Thunder Shock as its default move (previously, it spawned with only non-damaging status moves)
🛠️ World & Structures
- New Biome: Added the hazardous Sulfur Caves biome
- Cinnabar Blocks: Added Cinnabar, Polished Cinnabar, Cinnabar Bricks, and Chiseled Cinnabar
- Sulfur Blocks: Added Sulfur, Polished Sulfur, Sulfur Bricks, and Chiseled Sulfur, alongside Potent Sulfur and Sulfur Spikes
- Raid Den Balance: Made Raid Den Crystals more common throughout the world.
- Decorations: Wooden lanterns now emit a full light level of 15 (up from 10) and can now be dynamically hung on the sides of blocks, walls, and fences
🎼 Audio & Visuals
- Soundtrack Expansion: Added 5 new background music tracks: Unova Route 1, Route 4, and Route 10 by Pokestir; Aspertia City and Unova Bike Theme by Zame
- New Music Disc: Added the "Safari Zone" music disc by Zame. It has a rare chance to be found inside Mineshaft Chest Minecarts within the Sulfur Caves biome, and outputs a redstone comparator signal of 8
- Jukebox Integration: All background tracks and discs are now properly indexed and viewable inside the Jukebox UI (accessible by pressing "J")
- Audio Clean-up: All music discs have been renamed to "Poké Disc" (with the exception of "Lava Chicken"). Incorrect track descriptions on select discs will be addressed once our music update is complete, ensuring CurseForge users get 100% Pokémon music compatibility
- Atmosphere Management: Reorganized background music triggers via our main resource pack to better control themes across every biome. Future updates will focus on volume balancing. If you'd like to help us out, join our Discord: https://discord.lumy.fun
- In-game Toasts: Enabled standard game toast notifications. These are useful to track your progression, such as showing you a helpful reminder to press the "C" key to choose your starter when you first spawn, or notifying you when new PC Box wallpapers are unlocked during exploration.
- Resource Pack Status: Pressing and holding the "T" key on the Resource Pack menu will now display an upper-right notification confirming that resource packs have reloaded successfully
- Menu Cleanup: Removed the Pokémon 30th Anniversary branding logos
⚙️ Technical & Optimization
- GPU & Rendering Boost: Significantly optimized world rendering performance, netting up to +115% FPS on select hardware configurations
- Reduced Stuttering: Reduced latency spikes and micro-stutters during world chunk updates
- Thread Optimization: Teleportation mechanics no longer block the main server thread while loading chunks, preventing severe lag spikes on lower-end servers
- Menu Upgrades: Polished text formatting and layouts across various menu screens. The modpack's version number (e.g., "1.7.40") is now clickable and links directly to the full changelog
- Session Loading Visuals: The client now snaps a screenshot when leaving a world or server, displaying it as a seamless loading backdrop upon your next join
- General Polish: Dozens of underlying minor bug fixes and quality-of-life adjustments

We deeply apologize for the absence! Over the past 3 months, unexpected real-life hurdles kept us away from the development of COBBLEVERSE… We finally got back to work at the beginning of this month (July), and we are more focused than ever on dedicating the summer to working on the modpack! Thank you so much for your patience. We hope you enjoy this update! ❤️💙
