Overview
How about diving headfirst into a sandbox world with Cobblemon?
Cobblemonsters is a modpack designed to provide players with a sandbox experience in a diverse world full of new creatures. Several mechanics have been added to make this possible.
The modpack introduces new mechanics that enhance concepts rarely explored by the base game, such as automation with Create, magical evolution with Malum, and creature care with Cobblemon.
As the name suggests, the experience adds new survival elements like aggressive Pokémon, new dungeons, and better food.
Here’s a brief summary of some added mechanics:
Mechanics
📌 Battle Gimmicks: mechanics like Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, Dynamax, and Terastal are available.
📌 Recipe automation: even though the pack isn’t focused on automation, Create allows you to automate anything you can imagine, including new recipes for Poké Balls and potions.
📌 Legendary encounters: powerful Pokémon can be obtained through quests or natural generation.
📌 New bait items: cooking with Farmer’s Delight has its perks — new bait items have been added to Cobblemon fishing!
📌 New Pokémon: special thanks to the datapack creators who allowed me to use their work — over 170 species have custom models.
📌 New villager trades: villagers have new trades that fit the modpack, in line with Cobblemon and other installed mods (this also applies to the wandering trader).
📌 Improved loot: structures now contain loot compatible with Cobblemon.
📌 Mounts: players can ride Pokémon, offering different types of mobility — land, air, or sea.
Immersion
You don’t need shaders to make your world beautiful. Many visual effects have been added to make the world feel alive — from enhanced sound effects to subtle UI interactions.
✨ Fog effect: a light fog applied at the end of the render distance, similar to Minecraft 1.21.7.
✨ Visual effects: new particles and visual effects.
✨ Camera improvements: a new camera accessible by pressing F6, along with slight improvements to first-person view.
✨ Better clouds: revamped Minecraft clouds, now more beautiful while keeping the game’s original style.
- Note: all of these enhancements can be disabled in the mod settings.
World
New world generation with various biomes that fit Minecraft’s style, as well as new structures like camps, Pokémon Centers, and more.
Pokémon can now interact with the player in different ways — some wild species may attack, while others with teleport moves can warp to waystones.
Rebalancing
As mentioned earlier, the modpack adds many mechanics to enhance your experience, while also rebalancing forgotten or overpowered systems.
- Better villager trades
- Some recipes changed to better match vanilla
- Enchanting table disabled to promote the use of Malum’s Spirit Altar
Conclusion
First of all, I’d like to thank the datapack creators who allowed me to use their models and files to help create this experience. I’m truly grateful to all of you.

This project was made by the community, for the community. I hope you enjoy it — I’ve spent the last three months working on a sandbox-style game experience. I’d also like to mention the "Raspberry Flavoured" modpack, which at one point was crucial in helping shape this project’s mechanics and design philosophy.
It has always been my dream, since I was a child, to create a sandbox world with Pokémon. I hope this project continues to grow — I have many ideas to enhance the experience. They’re challenging ideas, but ones that truly excite me.
Suggestions are always welcome! I’d love to receive your feedback so we can improve this project together!
