What's new

Beta. Every Pokémon region is now its own world.

Worlds and travel

  • Every region has its own world. The overworld is Kanto and spawns only Pokémon #1-151. Johto, Sinnoh, Hoenn, Unova, Alola, Kalos, Galar and Paldea are separate worlds, each spawning that game's regional Pokédex (Johto: HeartGold/SoulSilver, Sinnoh: Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl). Gyms, Leagues, towns and trainers appear only in their own world. Region climates are nudged to suit the games: more sea around Hoenn and Alola, less snow in Paldea and Kalos, a colder Sinnoh. Eternal Starlight (Radical Red), the End (Unbound) and the Aether (Pokémon Adventures) are the post-game worlds.
  • The Cobblemon Hub is the travel hub. Get there with the Hub Stone (a repeatable quest reward next to the "Cobblemon TL;DR" quest): right-click to warp to the Hub, and right-click again in the Hub to return where you left. Each region has a gate in the Hub. To come back, build the same frame in the region and light it with the same key. The Hub is adventure mode.
  • Hub gates and keys: Kanto (stripped mangrove wood, Red Apricorn Seed; build it in the overworld to return), Johto (Cradlewood, Pink Apricorn), Sinnoh (stripped saccharine wood, White Apricorn Seed), Hoenn (blue concrete, Red Apricorn), Unova (Polished Cut Scoria, White Apricorn), Alola (purple + white glazed terracotta, Yellow Apricorn), Kalos (red + blue mosaic glass, Blue Apricorn), Galar (red + blue glazed terracotta, Black Apricorn) and Paldea (red + blue terracotta, Green Apricorn). Eternal Starlight, the End and the Aether keep their own portals. The old Evolution Stone portal is gone.
  • Alola is its own world (Tropicraft is gone): beaches, warm seas, a volcanic mountain and two tropical biomes.
  • Gyms and Leagues in every region. Each region gets 8 gyms and a League, recolored by type and framed in the region's gym block. Unova also has the Black 2/White 2 gyms, Galar has the Champion Cup building, Alola has the four Kahuna trials and its League, Unbound has eight gyms and a League on the End's outer islands, and Pokémon Adventures has three arenas in the Aether. Leaders appear only inside their buildings.
  • Towns: Cherrygrove City is in Johto, Twinleaf and Floaroma Towns in Sinnoh, Pacifidlog Town in Hoenn and Lentimas Town in Unova. Pallet and Lavender Town stay in Kanto. Pokémon Centers, Marts and villages appear in every region world. Towns, villages, gyms and Leagues share one placement grid, so they no longer land on top of each other.
  • Pokémon now spawn in Eternal Starlight and the Aether across the national dex. Floette, including the Eternal Flower form, spawns only in Kalos. Megas never spawn in the wild.

Trainers and progression

  • One trainer series per region, in story order, with villain teams inside: Team Rocket in Kanto and Johto, Team Aqua and Team Magma in Hoenn, Team Plasma and the Seven Sages in Unova (Black 2/White 2 is its own series), Team Flare in Kalos, Team Yell and Macro Cosmos in Galar, Team Skull and the Aether Foundation in Alola, and Team Star in Paldea. Grunts are optional. The old split series no longer appear at the Trainer Association. Pokémon Adventures is post-game.
  • New series: Kanto (FireRed/LeafGreen), Johto (HeartGold/SoulSilver), Galar (Sword/Shield, with a Champion Cup against four leaders and then Champion Leon) and Alola (Sun/Moon): Kahunas Hala, Olivia, Nanu and Hapu (they give Z-Crystals), with Hau, Gladion, Team Skull and the Aether Foundation, then the Elite Four and Professor Kukui. Teams, moves and held items are from the games.
  • Tiers: Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh are open from the start. After their four Champions (Blue, Lance, Cynthia, Steven), Unova, Kalos and Alola open. After Alder, Diantha and Kukui, Galar and Paldea open. After Geeta and Leon, Radical Red, Unbound and Pokémon Adventures open. Walking through a locked Hub gate sends you back with a message.
  • Radical Red lives entirely in Eternal Starlight, Unbound trainers spawn only in the End and Pokémon Adventures trainers only in the Aether.
  • Gotta Beat 'em All: a new quest group with one chapter per region (313 quests): a quest for every trainer you need to beat, in order. Each rewards Relic Coins plus a Poké Ball and evolution stone that match the trainer's type. Progress from earlier test builds resets.

Mods

  • Added: Catch Rate Display (a live catch chance while you aim a ball), Brendon's Bottlecaps (craftable IV boosters, with tooltips), Spice of Life: Carrot Edition (new foods raise your max health), Berry Pouch (Shift+P), Navas ZA Megas, Cobblemon Battle Extras, Entity Texture/Model Features, CobbleDollars Villagers Overhaul (villagers trade for CobbleDollars), Cloth Config API, Clean Swing Through Grass, Pipez, What Are They Up To, Wild Battle API, Beautiful Enchanted Books, Accelerated Decay and more.
  • Removed: Cobbledex (your Pokédex is Cobblemon's own, given by the first quest), the Cobblemon Ultra Beasts mod (its wormholes always returned you to the overworld) and Tropicraft.

Fixes

  • Fixed a random crash on startup ("Failed to create mod instance: capture_xp"). Mods are now built one at a time, so startup may take a few seconds longer.
  • Fixed the Kanto chapter of Gotta Beat 'em All showing up as "Unnamed".
  • Fixed the tier gates: a new tier now needs every Champion from the tier before.
