ClassicMatTech is a pure tech modpack for 1.12.2 inspired by Tekkit Classic and Voltz.
The intent of the pack is to rediscover the feeling of playing old Minecraft and old tech modpacks. There is no questbook unlike many modern modpacks. So, you can discover everything for yourself through experimentation and the game does not become a checklist. The early game is very much vanilla Minecraft, but as you discover new ores and resources you can experiment with crafting the plethora of high tech machines added. There are several mods that add mass destruction to pvp. The pack leans towards fighting and competing with other players, rather than peaceful cooperation. You can have a space race, or an arms race.
Main Mods:
-Buildcraft
Adds pipes and quarries. This is the main mod for resource gathering. You may want to spend your first diamonds on a quarry rather than a pick.
-IC2 Classic
Adds machines and generators. Automate crafting and power your base from steam engines to nuclear reactors.
-Immersive Engineering
Adds blocks that fit an industrial aesthetic, as well as being an alternate tech mod. The Immersive Intelligence addon adds new way to blow each other up or defend your base.
-Galacticraft
The only exploration mod because it is so tech heavy. Also adds a deep late game.
-Forestry
The agricultural side of industry. Adds bees and tree breeding.
-Project Red
An expansion to redstone. New ways to wire up your base.
-ICBM
Adds weapons of mass destruction. Very expensive, very destructive, very cool. Can be controlled with the Computer Craft mod.
