If you are stuck, don't know what to do, or simply would rather go in with guidance, read the following:
The basic premise is as follows:
-Find the parchments that show up on your map to progress the game directly. However, you do not need to follow them in any particular order.
-Enemies closer to spawn are weaker. As you head towards the edge of the map, enemies become stronger.
-To the North are white enemies
-To the West are green enemies
-To the Southwest are red enemies
-To the Southeast are blue enemies
-Killing an enemy will level up that color's skill for you.
-There is a boss for each color, and there is a mystery to solve to slay each boss to challenge the final boss.
If you need help with a puzzle, open the following spoiler:
Puzzles in Chromaforge are at a world scale. This means that some solutions to some puzzles are hidden in a completely different part of the world. If there is a parchment on your map that you're trying to find, and it seems either that it's impossible to reach or find, try looking for other parchments. When you find the other parchments, take note of what you find near them, if anything.
If, after reading this, you're still stuck, open the following spoiler.
If you're stuck looking for the white parchment in either The Silverian Crossroads or The Aetherium, open the following spoiler.
You will eventually find a parchment that's inside a locked Silverian Crossroads. To get in, you need to first find Lindsor's old hideout. This is the radio tower in The Plains to the West of spawn. In it, you will find a note on the wall of his office room that tells the player how to get inside the Crossroads.
If you still cannot find the entrance, open the following spoiler.
Stand outside the Northwestern side of the Crossroads and head Northwest. You should find a tree that has a hole at its base. This leads inside the building.
Inside the Silverian Crossroads is a key to the Aetherium. You need to use this key to get inside the Aetherium and fight the Silverian Metalia.
If you can't get to the green parchment in the Ancient Emeraldian City, open the following spoiler.
The parchment in the Ancient Emeraldian City is at the bottom of the submerged building on the Northern side of the city. This parchment is needed because it is found alongside the key to the Emeraldian Palace, where the Emeraldian Metalia is. The parchment and key are behind a glass wall, however, so you need to find another way in (or have some way to reach the opening in the glass). The key to figuring out how to get in is in an old abandoned town in Rubia.
If you need another hint, open the following spoiler.
In the Eastern side of Rubia, there's an abandoned town. In this town, there's some Chromian writing in one of the buildings. If you use a Chromian translator on it (a Chromian translator can be found in a chest in one of the buildings in Ashridge), the text gives a hint on how to get inside the room in the Ancient Emeraldian City.
If you're still stuck, open the following spoiler.
The alternate entrance to the room is behind the left leg of the blackstone statue to the North of the Ancient Emeraldian City.
If you're stuck trying to find a red parchment, open the following spoiler.
Finding the way to fight the Rubian Metalia requires you to find an entrance to the Ashen Metalia Keep, which is the large castle in the Southwestern-most point of Rubia. The doors to the keep are barred, so you need to find another way in.
The first hint is that all of the writing on the red parchments is in Ancient Chromian, which is unreadable without the help of an Ancient Chromian Translator. One can be found in a building in the abandoned town, another can be found in a building in Ashridge
If you're still stuck, open the following spoiler.
After translating the red parchments, you can read in a later parchment that something is off about the fountain in the Ancient Rubian Station. After interacting with it (clicking the Glowstone or pressing R/the North face controller button), a secret door opens that leads to another puzzle.
A room of many doors, all of which lead to your death besides one. To find the solution, you need to head down looking for blue parchments. Eventually, when you get to the Lazulia Palace, you'll find writing from Caerule. This writing gives you a hint on how to solve the puzzle.
If you want the solution to the door puzzle, open the following spoiler.
Wear the Rubian Helmet (can be found in a loot chest in the Abandoned Rubian Station). One of the torches will emit more smoke. That is the correct door. Continue down the path to the Rubian Palace to find your way to the Rubian Metalia boss fight.
If you're stuck trying to find a blue parchment, open the following spoiler.
There are two main puzzles for you to solve to fight the Lazulian Metalia.
First, eventually you'll find that one of the parchments to continue is in the ocean, and you cannot breathe underwater. If this is where you're stuck, talk to people in the Lazul Port Town.
If you need the answer, open the following spoiler.
Wearing a Lazulian Helmet will allow you to breathe underwater. A Lazulian Helmet can be found on the sandstone structure just south of Lazul Port Town
Next, you'll find that a parchment is seemingly inside the big palace in Lazulia, the underwater city. If you cannot find a way in, follow the white parchments until you find The Pale Castle. The parchment in this building will be a hint on how to get inside the Lazulian Palace.
If you need the answer, open the following spoiler.
The Palace is enterable through the sewers, which you can enter by going to the base of the city on the west.
NPC Trading
-NPCs can trade or talk to you. If they have a shop, they'll need to be at their post to use it. Their post should be intuitive.
Some shops only accept a certain kind of coin:
-Shops in Ashridge only allow purchases to be bartered with items, or using Red Chroma. The NPCs will tell you if you use the wrong Chroma. Same goes for characters of the other nations.
-Lazul Port, Blue Chroma
-Stonefield, Green Chroma
-Windspire, White Chroma
