Description
Minecraft: Chocolate Expansion
v1.0
Overview
Minecraft: Chocolate expansion adds a ton of new features and content to the game, while still holding true to the vanilla style. It is in it’s own sense a major expansion to the vanilla game. It feels vanilla, but with additional content added in almost every department. This is where it gets the name chocolate. Not quite vanilla, but not something completely game changing. It is simply more minecraft, or a bigger, better version of the game. Almost as if the game got 10 years worth of updates all at once.
Content added:
New weapons
There are many new weapons added to the game that are all similar to the basic sword and shield. They are mostly all melee, and have different capabilities depending on the weapon type, these could include things like more reach, more knockback, being throwable, larger area of effect when sweeping, having different speeds and damage outputs, and many other. They are all balanced within the game so nothing is overpowered.
New Enchantments:
Many new enchantments were added, and some of the more notable ones include smelting, razors edge, hydrodynamic, and nimble. There are many more than these but these are just a few of the more useful ones.
New ways to travel
This modpack expands on the current systems of travel. The first of which is by adding 2 new types of boats, these boats are bigger and can hold more passengers, and you can even store items on them. With more size, they are less maneuverable, and also take up more space, making it harder to sail through small passages. One type of boat is the same speed as the vanilla boat, but it is bigger and can store a large amount of items on it. The other new boat type is bigger and faster than the vanilla boat, but it can only store up to 9 stacks of items at once.
There is also new kinds of minecart rails, including a super slow rail and a high speed rail. There is also an endgame version called the ender rail, and it is expensive to use, but it allows for teleportation in survival. It uses ender pearls as fuel, and each time it is used it consumes some fuel. The farther the distance the more fuel is required. This is more of an endgame item.
Better Endgame
Speaking of endgame, it has vastly improved. New types of powerful ores can be found exclusively in the end dimension, and there is even a new elytra tier movement item - the booflo vest. The boofle vest allows for a high jump, and even a limited amount of midair jumps while equipped. This allows exploration of the end much more enjoyable. The elytra is still in the game if you prefer traditional flying.
There are also many new end biomes and end mobs, including one that drops ingredients to make balloons. Balloons can be attached to you and make you jump higher and fall slower, and if you have enough balloons you will start to float up. These pop eventually on their own but can also be popped manually. Balloons can also be attached to boats. There is also an item that allows you to store exp, and collect it later, which is essential for endgame as you rely heavily on enchanting in endgame minecraft.
Better World Generation
The end isn’t the only dimension that has more biomes, the overworld now had 160 new biomes that generate, which makes exploration and finding new stuff virtually endless. Some of these biomes are extremely rare.
Along with new biomes, there are new caves. As of 1.16.5, there is no cave update yet, so I’ve added a mod that vastly improves cave generation, and you might even find an extremely rare large ore deposit.
There are also new structures added to the game, adding even more reasons to go out and explore.
The ocean also had some changes made, and it added new ocean mobs like the nautilus, and a new mini boss, The Great Thrasher.
There is also a new world type option: Terraformed. This option makes flatter, more realistic worlds, while the default is more like vanilla
Vanilla Game Tweaks and addons:
Many tweaks and changes added to make minecraft more enjoyable, including countless quality of life changes and even a new major feature: Maps
Tweaks:
- Mobs now have a chance to spawn extra powerful and will drop enchanted books when killed. There are several variants of these.
- The ender dragon will drop an egg every time it is killed, even if it was respawned by a player
- When you hold food in your hand, you can see how much hunger it fill as well as how much saturation it gives you.
- Hoes now act as scythes, meaning if you mine tall grass with it it will mine a 3x3 area
- There is a way to escape the end if you get lost, all be it complex, but there is a craftable guidebook that tells you how
- Torches can now be placed on slabs
- You can now swing weapons through grass and other obstructions
- There is a trach slot in the inventory, allowing for you to throw away trash more easily
- And a bunch of other very minor tweaks that aren't really noticeable but are still there
- The way fire burns has been changed to be more realistic
Addons:
- Just enough items
- Sound filters, which adds reverb when in caves
- Dynamic surroundings
- Ambient sounds
- Maps:
Maps are an item in the base game, but now there is a much better form of them. You can press m on your keyboard to open up a full world map of all terrain that has been generated. There is even a customizable minimap that you can turn on and off, that shows your immediate surroundings and locations of nearby mobs and ground items.
