Cataclysmus V2.1 Changelog
Whistling Arrows & Critical Strikes:
- Whistling Arrows is the name of the new critical strikes mechanic for ranged players:
- Dodge right before releasing an arrow to make it a Whistling Arrow.
- These arrows break upon hitting blocks, but deal more damage and deal a lot more knockback to an enemy.
- Critical Strikes have been rewritten to improve performance, consistency, and make them dodge-only:
- Also added a small time window in the ground that still allows for a crit to be performed.
Wildcards:
- Wildcards are armor pieces that do not belong to any class, but will not remove the current class when worn..
- Only two Wildcards may be worn at once, and each piece worn will reduce the attributes of the class by 25%.
- Current Wildcards:
- Classless armor pieces with unchanged abilities: Elytra, Crown of Rule, Mushroom Hat, Water Walking Boots, Jump Boots, Cloud Boots, Sprint Leggings, Glider Chestplates, Nightvision Goggles.
- Archaeologist Hat: When worn, ores will guarantee their dust drop (and will have a 50% chance of dropping 2 dusts, 100% with fortune I and +1 dusts with higher levels).
- Pirate Hat: Increases the speed of boats and aquatic mounts while equipped.
- Witch Hat: The wearer gets greater Buff durations. Victims get greater Debuff durations.
- Dragon Head: Enables a super dodge (with increased cooldown) while Elytra flying, creative flight (used by potions), Glider chestplate gliding.
- Hirschgeist Skull: When worn, emits a pale glow that wards against void beings. After 6 uses, the skull loses its magic for 10 seconds. Damage scales with the player’s highest damage stat.
- Golden Crown: Grants an initial 30% chance of negating damage while at 90% health. If damage was negated, the chance is divided by the number of hits resisted + 1. The chance of negating damage is affected by the Luck attribute.
- Antler Hat: Grants natural regeneration at the expense of durability. Enemies killed drop orbs that repair your equipment.
- Beetle Mask: Has a 10% chance (lower if player has luck) of retaliating from an enemy attack. Each time it doesn't do damage, it increases the eventual damage it will deal. Damage is based on the highest damage stat. It has a limited range equal to the player’s reach distance.
- Mob Heads: The matching entity becomes neutral.
Changes:
- You can now sprint and swim sideways.
- You can now crawl with a keybind.
- Added a new intro cutscene on world creation that also teaches the keybind for crawling.
- Air now regenerates slowly like in newer versions of Minecraft.
- You can no longer jump or dodge while crawling.
- Helmets no longer show a head protection tooltip (helmet defense obviously reduces the player’s head shot damage).
- Added tooltips for some wildcards to explain their abilities.
- Side/Backward dodges now have a smaller cooldown than regular dodges.
- Any ore that drops dusts will have their chances affected by the luck attribute.
- Buffed the damage of spartanweaponry arrows (wooden, iron, and diamond arrows/bolts).
- Greatly increased the damage of thrown weapons.
- Rebalanced All Spartanweaponry weapons.
- Grave keys can no longer teleport you if you are in the air.
Fixes:
- Potentially fixed player losing their items by dying and opening their grave at the same time.
- Fixed most Spartanweaponry weapons not scaling in damage from wood to diamond, to vulcanite, etc.
- Fixed Rage damage adding immunity frames to the player, potentially bypassing enemy damage.
- Eyedrudens are no longer invincible when lit up:
- This also fixes a major incompatibility with modern versions of Alfheim Lighting engine.
- Eyedrudens now always have 1hp, even in the deep caverns.
- Updated Alfheim/fixed lighting glitches that happened occasionally on dark areas.
