Butterfrog 1.1.9 - The "Sad to see Cars go, but... I added machinima tools!" update

 

FYI: Some users report better framerates without optifine installed. 

 

Forge Update:

Forge updated to the latest version for 1.12.2, which is forge-14.23.5.2855

 

Mod Additions:

• Backportedflora - This adds some of the flora from minecraft 1.13 and above (i.e. wither flowers, kelp, dried kelp, lily of the valley).
• Blockbuster, and Aperture - Really excited about these ones! Adds really neat features that allow players to record and make their own scenes, and change camera angles. McHorseYT did an excellent job with this mod. If you want to make and export a machinima recording to something like Youtube, you need McHorseYT's Minema mod, which I did not include in the modpack. 
• Gunpowderlib - library needed for Dimensionaledibles update
• Mixinbootstrap (including mixincompat) - These are for the new Dynamicsurroundings update. 

 

Mod Removal:

• Ultimate Car Mod (the mod with cars) - I had to remove this in order to stay below 4096 block IDs after The Betweenlands, ZAWA, Moreplanets, and Extraplanets updates. I was sad to finally let this mod go, but player feedback showed the mod was redundant, given the ability to morph into a bird and fly, or to ride animals like dragons. It freed up over 100 block IDs, which were desperately needed for future updates. ZAWA and Galacticraft both have cars if you really want a vehicle to record in your machinimas.

Setup - Very important to follow!: 

• Make sure "profile options" shows Forge 14.23.5.2855
• Recommended at least 4gb ram allocation in "profile options -> memory settings". Optimal is 5gb+
• Optifine is recommended, but not required. 

 

End notes:

Some have asked me to update this modpack to Minecraft 1.16.2. I cannot do this, because most of the mod creators are still working with forge on Minecraft 1.12.2. For example, the metamorph mod is exclusive to 1.12.2. I will update once the mod creators have transitioned, or for future Butterfrog modpacks, I will find other mods that manage to integrate 1.16 features into 1.12.2.

 

IMPORTANT WARNING FOR OLD WORLDS (same as was included in 1.1.5 and after):

If you have a single player world made from a previous version of this modpack (anything before version 1.1.5), this update may cause instability to your old world. This is due to an increase in new blocks from the Betweenlands, ZAWA, and Moreplanets/Galacticraft updates. If this applies to you, make sure to backup your single player save folder before updating. There is a workaround if you want to carry your old world over to this update, but it can be complicated, and involves editing your level.dat file. You would need to use NBTexplorer to edit your level.dat file, and make sure you remove enough of the dummied block IDs to have a total amount of block ids below 4096. Alternatively, you might be able to get away with transferring over your region and playerdata folders into a new world, or you can use the older Moreplanets, ZAWA, and TheBetweenlands versions. Regardless, you'll want a backup of your world first. If all else fails, you can use worldedit to save your builds to schematics, and paste them into your new world. 

 

Fresh new worlds/saves are unaffected.
