Alright, You found my modpack. It is called BoringCraft because It does not have any wacky mods [EDIT: I realized that this modpack does have wacky mods soo...], but still tons of content. (I also couldn't think of anything else :)
WE HAVE A DISCORD SERVER NOW! https://discord.gg/gwcfqfU
QUICK START:
1. If you haven't already, download the Overwolf launcher and install this modpack. Helpful video:
2. Add Optifine to the pack:
Installing Third Party Mods
Within the Curse ecosystem, a third party mod refers to any mod that isn't hosted on CurseForge. They would prefer that all mods in modpacks that are shared in a Curse project are CurseForge mods so that users get the best user experience and that authors receive credit and rewards for the hard work that they put into their creations. You will be allowed to use non-CurseForge mods if they have licenses that allow for public usage, such as MIT/GPL or an equivalent. Here is a list of Non-CurseForge mods with open use linceses that you can use on Curse in a modpack.
You can install a third party mod to any single player modpack without any issues at any time. However, you will be restricted to the third party modpack list if you decide to make your modpack public as a CurseForge modpack project.
Install a third party modpack:
- Select the more (three dots) option in the upper right corner of your modpack profile page.
- Open the folder.
- Drag and drop the mod you would like to add into the mods folder.

3. Add JVM Garbage collectors: I was running into performance issues while playing singleplayer and decided to look into the problem. I came across some garbage collection arguments and did some testing. With 3 GB's or ram and the JVM arguments I was getting an average of 120 fps at 12 render distance and 100 fps without the arguments. If that isn't enough, at a 16 render distance the game became unplayable without the JVM. If you want to use them, paste the text below in the box labeled additional arguments in the next spoiler.
-XX:SurvivorRatio=2 -XX:+AggressiveOpts -XX:+UseStringDeduplication -XX:+UseG1GC -Xmx3G -Xms3G -Dsun.rmi.dgc.server.gcInterval=2147483646 -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:G1NewSizePercent=20 -XX:G1ReservePercent=20 -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=50 -XX:G1HeapRegionSize=32M
4. Optional: Allocate 4+ GB's of ram to the modpack.
5. Finished! Enjoy the modpack!
This modpack started as a pack to play with my friends, and was first in use around when Socksfor1 started his second modpack series. This has been influenced by both RLCraft and Socksfor1's videos. This modpack had been sitting on one of my USB keys and I just recently decided to update it. I added about 30 more mods, and it was still stable, so I decided to publish it. It can run with 3 GB's of ram but I recommend 4 (5 if using shaders). There is one mod that I can't include in this modpack download that has to be added separately. This is Optifine (Download 1.12.2 F6 pre1 version) This modpack is in development and can use suggestions. The only mods I won't include are mods that don't quite fit in with minecraft's style (such as Lycanites Mobs.) If I accidentally added any mods that say they are not to be distributed in modpacks, please let me know. EDIT: This modpack is going to peak at 160 mods total, and after I hit that number, any updates will be balance changes and mod updates.
The lowest Specs I've tested this on is a i5-6200U with 8Gb's of ram (3 allocated) and a NVIDIA 940mx. With only minecraft and discord up, I got a solid 60 fps in single player at 6 chunk render (all other settings turned down as well.)
All mods were gotten on curseforge except for Optifine.
