Bon Appetit version 1.1.0 changelog

Welcome to version 1.1.0! And an extra welcome for those who might be seeing this for the first time! Hello, CurseForge!

This was supposed to be a smaller update focused mainly on a few recipe tweaks and recipe unification, but things spiraled as I kept finding other small things to tweak, not to mention the discovery of a few new mods to try out. Thank you to my private testers for your suggestions! Please note that just because you don't see a suggested mod here doesn't necessarily mean it won't be included in the future -- while some suggested don't fit "the vibe," others definitely might with a bit of tweaking!

Removed:

  • Giacomo's Fishing Net: Outclassed by fishing trap, and simply doesn't work with some modded fish.
  • Realm RPG: Creep & Crop: Too buggy for my liking. The hitboxes are jank, with Halloweeds even able to hit through 1-block-thick walls, and the mobs are able to spawn in lit areas at night (ex. inside your base).
  • Better F3: This was only in the pack because I'd mistakenly added it when I meant to add "BetterF3." Oops. ^^'
  • Spyglass of Curios: Swapped for Spyglass Improvements, which is essentially the same thing but better.
  • Cutie Crawlies: Love the silverfish models from this resource pack, but unfortunately something in the pack totally breaks its textures.
  • Chocapic13' High Performance Shaders: Too much fog, not enough settings.
  • Also removed various lib/core/dependency mods associated with mods that are no longer in the pack

Added:

  • Crying Portals, EMI: Create Schematics, BetterF3, FuelCanister, Craft Bundle TFC, Spyglass Improvements: QoL.
  • Create: Oppenheimered, Farmer's Cutting: Twilight Forest, Farmer's Cutting: Quark, Farmer's Cutting: Nether's Exoticism: Additional recipe compats.
  • Limit Mob Spawn: Another pack-tweaking mod that I have yet to mess with. I've noticed that certain mobs can spawn in biomes they probably shouldn't (ex. Quark's cave mobs and Realm RPG: Imps & Demons mobs in Alex's Caves biomes), and I do wish to restrict that somewhat.
  • Oceanic Delight, Casualness Delight, Fright's Delight, Rustic Pancakes: More food options!
  • Storage Delight, Handcrafted: More decoration options!
  • Just a Few Ohana, Deep Aether, Delayed Thunder: A few mods to bring more natural flair to the land itself.
  • Mellow: Introducing Mellow, a shader with a rustic sort of vibe that looks great and runs well! I've set up some settings to run with this by default, but ofc, it's not necessary to enjoy the pack. That said, one feature I really like here is that the moon can produce different amounts of ambient light depending on the moon phase. A full moon makes it easy to see outside, whereas visibility without lighting is severely limited during a new moon.
  • Illager Invasion: With all the various armor, weapon, and gear options available, I wanted to rebalance raids to be a bit more difficult.
  • Mighty Mail, Water Balloon: Some more slice-of-life-style content for players to mess with.
  • EnemyBanner: Terraria-style banners that display enemies! Every 50th kill against a mob of a certain type will drop that mob's respective banner, and placing an enemy banner down gives nearby players a small buff against those enemies.
  • Softi's DnD Classes: Monk: Experimenting a little more with an extra class addition! Unsure how well it'll mesh, but thats's what testing is for! Monks utilize a combo system in their unarmed combat style, which I thought sounded interesting and thought could mesh well with all the movement accessories in the pack.
  • Choup's Drakvyrn Mod: Another experiment. Thought this one could be a fun exploration reward as well as a fun bragging point, lol.

Recipe tweaks:

  • An update to Unusual Delight added a recipe for Ghast Bloodade. I've removed this recipe, as I've already given it a custom recipe that uses items from multiple mods.
  • Added lemon, lime, and orange slices as well as chopped bouddha's hand to the forge:fruits/citrus tag.
  • Added mixing bowl recipe for heavy cream. While the heavy cream from Brazilian Delight can be crafted by right-clicking on a cooking pot with milk and then stirring, I felt this recipe wasn't the most intuitive since it didn't show up in EMI.
  • Tweaked recipe for cream cheese to use heavy cream.
  • Tweaked a few skewer/kebab recipes to use the basin or grill from Barbeque's Delight.
  • Tweaked recipe for onion slices; gave onion slices the onion tag.
  • Added recipes to several fruit gummies that were lacking them. They would have been uncraftable without certain specific mods installed, but their respective fruits are present in the pack.
  • Added recipe for passionfruit cake slice.
  • Added recipe for Supplementaries goblet that uses zinc.
  • Tweaked several recipes to make them use a tortilla in place of bread (namely a few wraps/burritos and a few tacos).
  • Added recipe for ghasta. This could originally only be obtained via piglin trades, which felt sort of unintuitive to me, especially when another mod adds in ghast tentacles as a drop.
  • Tweaked a few recipes involving ghast tentacles, ghasta, and ghasmati.
  • Tweaked recipe for corn flour.
  • Added crafting and washing recipes for corn dough using corn flour.
  • Tweaked recipes for popcorn to use the forge:kernels tag.
  • Tweaked recipe for ember kimchi to use fermenting jar.
  • Changed recipe for fermenting jar to use a Supplementaries jar. The two recipes are identical by default outside of a bucket of water.
  • Tweaked recipe for beet chips to use a cutting board.
  • Added mechanical press recipe for raw pizza.
  • Fixed and added to broken recipe for frozen flesh; tweaked to use mini fridge.
  • Fixed broken recipe for cassava crate.
  • Fixed broken recipes for sandstone/red sandstone pavement.
  • Fixed broken recipe for decorative small rock pile.
  • Added several items to forge:small_cacti tag to fix a broken cactus chunk recipe.
  • Unusual Delight has a handful of items baked in that are meant to work with other mods. Many of those mods are not in the pack, though. Rather than letting these items go to waste, I've created new recipes for elemental dragon chunks, lightning sourdough, dragonscale crumble, dragon loaf, draco pasta, scale chips, nemo muffin, tongue sandwich, ghast bloodade, and gorgon steam. I also created a tag for dragon scales to use for the dragonscale crumble recipe.
  • Added draining recipes for lumisene. (Did this so it can be used as an ingredient for one of the food items listed above.) **TODO: add spouting recipes to make buckets/bottles of lumisene.
  • Removed broken stonecutter recipe for outdoor stone.
  • Began work on unifying candy canes. **Still figuring out how I wanna approach this one.
  • Added/tweaked a few recipes involving candy canes and peppermint powder.
  • Unified recipes for/using rose gold. **TODO: figure out custom repair materials. This simply isn't possible to do in KubeJS, at least in its base state.
  • Unified recipes for/using coffee beans.
  • Unified recipes for/using cactus.
  • Unified recipes for/using gingerbread men, plus added a new recipe or two.
  • Tweaked a few recipes for/using gingerbread crumbs.
  • Unified recipes for/using rosehips.
  • Unified recipes for/using lemons/lemon slices. **TODO: jams/jellies use lemon slices, and I haven't gotten around to fixing that yet.
  • Disabled berry cookies and fish stew from Vanilla Cookbook, as both already exist in Farmer's Delight.
  • Disabled the deep frying pan from Casualness Delight; converted recipes that used it into recipes for the fryer from Create: Bitterballen.

Other tweaks:

  • Downloaded updates for various mods in the pack. **Unfortunately, Art of Forging is now a defunct addon. I cannot update Tetra and Tetracelium without removing Art of Forging. Will be researching further in the future to determine my course of action here, as Art of Forging does bring a lot to the table.
  • Disabled spawns for crabs from both Quark and Friends & Foes with the hopes that it will make unifying crab recipes a little easier. Time will tell.
  • Set Supplementaries config to allow jars and cages to capture entities based on hitbox size.
  • Made a few changes to the BonAppeTooltips and BonAppeTips resource packs.
  • Wrote up questbook entry for Tom's Simple Storage.
  • Changed the text of the "Turning Up the Heat" quest slightly.
  • Changed the reward of the "Turning Up the Heat" quest from 20 clay balls to 8 clay balls.
  • Changed the requirement of the "Portion Control" quest to a cutting board.
  • Removed tags from Naturalist's cooked egg. This was something I should have done in the last update, as I'd already disabled it there, but somehow I missed removing its tags.
  • Made a shader preset for Mellow.
  • Light tweaks to resource pack list.
  • Changed a few keybinds so that the keypad can be used for Quark emotes.
  • Returned Carry On keybind to default (shift); updated "What if you just sort of reached over and..." quest to reflect this update.
  • Fixed spelling of "Adventurous" in the quest name "A Sampler Platter for the Adventrous Type."
  • Began work on "Going Places" questbook chapter.

Current objectives moving forward:

  • Continue to tackle content/recipe overlap between mods.
  • Continue work on questbook.
  • Crab meat and squid meat still needs to be addressed.
  • Figure out the process for adding custom items.
  • Learn how to adjust mob spawns, then adjust mod spawns as needed.
