Bloom & Doom Acres is a small, cozy ranch-life pack for Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge). Raise horses with real breeds and coats, build a proper barn to keep them in, cook what you grow, and watch the sun set over the pasture with shaders on.

It's mostly bloom. The doom is the wolves, which hunt in packs here.

The pack is deliberately light. There are no tech trees, no magic systems, and no quest book: it's Minecraft with a much better farm.

What you'll do:

- **Keep animals worth naming.** DragN's Livestock Overhaul and LO: Pets! give horses, cattle, sheep, goats, chickens, dogs, and cats real breeds, coats, and markings. Foals inherit traits from their parents, so breeding becomes a long-term project.
- **Build a real stable.** The Macaw's mods add half doors your horses can look over, paddock fencing, sloped roofs, and furniture in every wood. Handcrafted adds couches, shelves, and tableware, and Fairy Lights strings the barn aisle with lanterns.
- **Cook from the garden.** Farmer's Delight adds tomatoes, cabbages, onions, and rice, plus a cutting board, a cooking pot, and feasts you serve to the whole table. AppleSkin shows what each meal is worth before you eat it.
- **Ride further.** Biomes O' Plenty fills the world with new biomes and woods to build with. Xaero's Minimap and World Map keep track of where you've been, and Waystones let you travel instantly between any you've found and activated.
- **Never get stuck.** JEI shows any recipe at a keypress, and Jade names whatever you're looking at, including when crops are grown and animals are ready to shear.
- **Enjoy the golden hour.** Complementary Reimagined and MakeUp Ultra Fast shaders run on Oculus, with Embeddium, FerriteCore, and ModernFix keeping frame rates smooth.

Getting started:

- **Memory:** give Minecraft about 6 GB in CurseForge's Java settings.
- **Shaders:** choose one in Video Settings under Shader Packs, or press O in game. Press K to switch shaders off if things slow down.
- **One keybind to fix:** the horse Bow emote and Xaero's waypoint key both use B. Move the Bow to Alt + B in Options, Controls.
- **Read the Livestock Guide,** the in-game book covering animal care, mount controls, and recipes.

Playing with friends:

We built this pack for our own private server, so it includes AutoModpack, which keeps everyone's mods matched to the server. It sits idle in singleplayer. If you join a server that uses it, you'll see a prompt before anything downloads. Only accept that prompt from a server you trust.
