How it plays

One island, three paths

Everything begins with Botania. Once you have a Mana Pool and an Orechid, all three magic mods unlock at the same time:

• Blood Magic: your first Blood Altar needs manasteel.
• Astral Sorcery: your Mana Pool replaces the worldgen and shrines Astral normally relies on. Stone becomes marble, lapis becomes aquamarine, and a crafting table soaked in mana becomes your Luminous Crafting Table.
• Nature's Aura: Gold Fiber is spun from manasteel nuggets.

None of the three is the "right" one to start with. Go whichever way you like.

The Threefold Convergence

Each mod feeds every other through new custom recipes. A few examples:

• Bleed a Token of Joy into Sorrow on a Blood Altar.
• Turn a diamond into a mana diamond using liquid starlight.
• Align infused iron into starmetal on a Natural Altar.
• Pour aura into a bucket of life essence.
