What's new

BlackHorizont Forbidden Nightfall Ultimate is the definitive version of BlackHorizont Forbidden Nightfall. This release rebuilds the pack into a larger, harder, and more complete post-apocalyptic survival experience focused on multiplayer, firearms, hordes, radiation, ruined cities, quests, Create progression, and long-term server gameplay.

## Ultimate Version

- Reworked the modpack into the new BlackHorizont Forbidden Nightfall Ultimate version.
- Established this version as the main definitive release path for the project.
- Rebalanced the pack around hardcore post-apocalyptic survival, multiplayer progression, PvP, factions, exploration, economy, and server stability.
- Reinforced the pack identity as a non-vanilla survival experience with custom progression and high difficulty.

## World Generation and Lost Cities

- Added and configured Lost Cities as part of the post-apocalyptic world.
- Added ChaosZPack support for abandoned city structures and zombie apocalypse-style exploration.
- Added Doomsday-related content for abandoned structures and loot integration.
- Reduced city size and generation intensity to avoid oversized mega cities.
- Adjusted city generation so the world keeps more natural exploration space.
- Reduced building height to improve performance and avoid excessive lag.
- Increased loot availability so most buildings remain worth exploring.
- Balanced city generation around long-term survival and multiplayer exploration.

## Infection and Survival Systems

- Reviewed infection-related systems across Sona, Hordes, Apocalypse Now, Zombie Kit, and Spore.
- Disabled Apocalypse Now infection because it duplicated other infection systems and had no clear cure path.
- Disabled Apocalypse Now zombification to avoid unfair chain deaths.
- Disabled Apocalypse Now radiation because radiation is already handled by the dedicated radiation system.
- Kept Apocalypse Now physical survival effects such as bleeding, severe bleeding, broken leg, pain, bite, and scratch.
- Disabled Sona infected zone generation so players are not infected just by spawning or walking near spawn.
- Kept infection through zombie-related gameplay.
- Hordes infection remains active as a combat-based threat.
- Sona infection remains active through mobs and items instead of global zone exposure.

## Hordes

- Reviewed and kept The Hordes as one of the main survival pressure systems.
- Hordes remain active and naturally scheduled.
- Hordes are configured around player time, making them better suited for multiplayer.
- Players can still be infected by zombie-type enemies.
- Zombie player mechanics remain active.
- Golden apples and enchanted golden apples remain important infection cure items.
- Hordes continue to support long-term server danger without relying on constant environmental infection.

## Spore

- Reviewed Spore configuration and kept it active as a major threat.
- Spore remains part of the high-difficulty identity of the pack.
- Stronger infected evolution and hostile pressure remain enabled.
- Spore adds long-term danger, infected enemies, and world contamination pressure.

## Radiation

- Kept the dedicated radiation system as the main radiation source.
- Removed duplicate Apocalypse Now radiation effect.
- Radiation remains part of exploration, dangerous zones, items, and progression.
- Nightfall remains connected to forbidden and radioactive zone lore.

## Weather and Climate

- Added Extreme Clime for special climate danger such as acid rain.
- Configured acid rain behavior and visuals.
- Weather2 was tested and tuned, but later removed from the pack direction due to performance concerns, block updates, packet load, and server stability risks.
- The pack now focuses on more controlled environmental danger instead of destructive weather systems.

## Create Progression

- Added KubeJS Create support for custom Create processing.
- Added custom Create recipe systems under server scripts.
- Added a custom heated mixing recipe for gunpowder.
- Gunpowder now uses a more realistic black powder-inspired process.

## Gunpowder Rework

- Removed vanilla crafting table access to gunpowder.
- Removed selected default Create gunpowder processing paths.
- Added a new Create mixing process using charcoal, copper sulfate, potassium, sulphur, and saltpetre.
- The recipe requires a Mechanical Mixer, Basin, and Blaze Burner.
- Ammunition-related progression is now more industrial and survival-focused.

## Custom Recipes and Progression Items

Added or adjusted several important recipes, including:

- Card Void
- Uranium 238 Block
- Dense Battery
- Creative Energy
- Golden Apple
- Golden Carrot

These recipes support late-game progression, custom technology, radiation-related crafting, and controlled access to powerful items.

## Food and Recovery Balance

- Added a harder recipe for Golden Apples using gold blocks.
- Added a custom Golden Carrot recipe using gold ingots.
- Golden Apples remain important for infection curing and survival recovery.
- Healing and infection recovery are now more valuable without being too easy to obtain.

## Quests and Economy

- Reviewed FTB Quests configuration.
- Chapter 1 currently includes bronze coin rewards across many quests.
- Bronze coins continue to support the custom economy.
- Quest progression remains a major guide for survival, exploration, crafting, combat, and long-term development.
- The pack continues to support economy-based rewards and multiplayer trading.

## Economy

- Continued support for the custom BlackHorizont bronze coin economy.
- Villager and trader economy remains adjusted around custom currency.
- Quest rewards and market-style progression are part of the long-term multiplayer loop.

## Portals and Dimensions

- Nether and End access remain restricted and extremely dangerous.
- Portal progression is tied to custom BlackHorizont items.
- The Nether and End are not normal vanilla progression paths.
- Players are not expected to rush dimensions for easy power progression.

## World Identity and Lore

- Added stronger lore direction around Nightfall as a forbidden and dangerous zone.
- Created the lore concept of Refugio Nightfall.
- Added the lore character Victor Red as the first known survivor connected to the world story.
- Season 0 is treated as the beta and lore foundation before the main server season.

- Adjusted Biomes O’ Plenty biome toggles using the previous pack as reference.
- Added biome replacement rules to shape the world toward the intended post-apocalyptic style.

## Testing and Stability

- Reviewed logs multiple times during development.
- Audited crashes related to config loading, Weather2, Sona, packet sending, and server load.
- Fixed TOML encoding issues caused by BOM characters.
- Reviewed server and client logs for infection, radiation, horde loading, loot table warnings, and config issues.
- Removed temporary backup files from the final export.
- Continued tuning around multiplayer performance and 20-player server expectations.

## Multiplayer Focus

- Built for multiplayer servers, clans, factions, PvP, trading, alliances, betrayals, and long-term survival.
- Solo play is possible, but the full experience is designed around multiplayer.
- The pack is balanced around dangerous progression, player cooperation, base defense, exploration, and conflict.

## Important Note

This is not vanilla Minecraft.

BlackHorizont Forbidden Nightfall Ultimate changes progression, world danger, resource access, dimensions, combat, survival systems, and exploration. Players should not expect a normal vanilla survival experience.

Survive carefully. Nightfall is forbidden for a reason.
