Better Than Modded is a Minecraft modpack made for 1.20.1 with a focus on adding content that feels natural in the world of Minecraft, mainly rebalancing existing features.
OPTIMIZATION
Optimization has received the same treatment most packs receive with Embeddium, FerriteCore, Cull Leaves, Noisium, Clumps, and more! These performance enhancing mods allow smooth gameplay even with either of the two shader presets that come with the pack.
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation has been entirely reworked to promote building infrastructure via minecarts and highways. Horses have received buffs via sugar cubes and the ability to swim, Minecarts have been enhanced with furnace carts propelling a cart forward as well as copper rails being a faster powered rail. Elytras have been reworked more into accessibility items rather than exploration items, they are perfect for ascending large builds vertically at your base using campfires, but with the lack of firework propulsion, their distance is limited.
CUSTOMIZATION
Player customization has been enhanced with features such as 3d skin layers, dynamic armor trim inventory displays, and even elytra/tool trimming! On top of this enhanced customization, you can also choose what armor you'd like to show with show me your skin, allowing for you to maintain full protection whilst having your head or entire skin visible. Additionally, shield banners have been tweaked to maintain the high quality banner copy.
GAMEPLAY
Gameplay has been tweaked to encourage exploration and diversity. With atlas maps, you can craft your very own minimap that can be used to track your way home after a long voyage, additionally, if you happen to die far off, it's not the end of the world. With quark, your loot will compile into a floating totem that you must smack a few times to receive your items. These totems will last forever so long as you don't die again before retrieving it! Chainmail armor has been given a use, being added to your leggings and chestplate as an extra padding which grants an extra armor point each, and adds an attribute called impact resistance!
VISUALS
The visuals of vanilla Minecraft have been drastically enhanced with the stay true resource pack, diagonal fences and walls, not enough animations, what are they up to, easy magic, easy anvils, visual workbench, falling leaves, amplified nether, and more!
REDSTONE
Redstone has been overhauled with a lot of new functional blocks, as well as alternate current to optimize it all. These new blocks include turntables, cranks, pipes, droppers, sconce levers, and so much more.
EVERYTHING ELSE
The mod adds several quality of life features such as notes, quark inventory sorting, bedrock bridging, removal of overworld portal structures, faster portals, nature’s compass, sheep consistency, enchantment descriptions, no feather trample, better third person, chat heads, and MUCH MORE!
