Better Than Caves [BTC] - Forge

Minecraft feels different now. Ever since the Caves & Cliffs update, the game feels like it is at a much larger scale than the Minecraft I remember. The increased world height and depth make what was once a simple world feel enormous and limitless, increasing lag spikes while generating chunks. In many ways, these changes have been for the better, but at the cost of performance, familiarity, and simplicity, I felt like an alternative was needed. That's why I created BTC: shorthand for Better Than Caves & Cliffs. BTC contains the necessary performance and QoL features to compete with vanilla, as well as backporting or reinterpreting a number of modern features. Along with these additions comes a collection of new vanilla-styled content including new village variants like swamp and thatch villages, the end update, and new dimensions. Despite this, the modpack still expands in areas left untouched by vanilla Minecraft throughout the years by adding new furniture blocks and complex boss mobs. This pack combines everything you love about current Minecraft and classic Minecraft to create an experience that will hook you!

This pack contains:

✅ Caves & Cliffs-style cave generation using the classic 1.16.5 world depth and ore generation. Includes Lush Caves, Dripstone Caves, and 3 other cave biomes!

✅ Backports or reimaginations of beloved modern vanilla features, such as most of the Caves & Cliffs update's content, the bamboo wood type, cherry trees, wolf variants and armor, and even the happy ghast!

✅ Fantastic performance despite its 190+ mods!

✅ Free local multiplayer from the ESSENTIAL Mod, no servers required! (Warning: this makes your IP visible to friends you invite to your world. Only do this with people you trust!)

✅ New and beautiful biomes in the Overworld, Nether, and End!

✅ New, exciting structures to conquer, explore, and loot!

✅ Two brand-new dimensions, the Everbright and Everdawn!

✅ New village features such as villager guards, new village variants, difficult raids, and sky villages!

✅ Significantly improved sounds and more frequent music!

✅ Lots of new bosses to fight!

✅ A huge palette of new blocks to build with, including vertical slabs and furniture!

✅ Lots of fun new food items!
