Beneath The Water

Welcome to Beneath The Water, a cinematic horror modpack that focus on making deep waters scarier than ever!

Goal of the Modpack:

The goal of the modpack is to focus on the fear of swimming. I see A LOT of horror modpacks that mainly focus on entities that are on land and in caves. Of course, that is great because people would want to explore on land anyways. So with this knowledge, I wanted to be a little different compared to other modpacks, and I made it where you are mostly focused on exploring the dark places compared to exploring land. This helps with scares that players haven't experienced before, and gives players brand new gameplay to keep them invested on what they can discover!

The Atmosphere:

When first joining the world, you will spawn on a island in the middle of the ocean. Some islands could be either really big or really small, but each one is surrounded all by water. You only have a limited supply of food and resources, so you could either save those resources and make farms, OR you have to face your fear of the ocean and start swimming. I don't want to spoil too many things, so I would recommend checking the gallery section on this page to see what the atmosphere looks like as well!

Best Optimization for the Modpack:

1. Turning music off - Turning the music off gives a creepier vibe and makes sounds alot better to hear. (It's not extremely neccesary to turn music off but it's mostly based on your prefrence.)
2. Applying Shaders and Resource Packs (If not already applied) - I highly recommend this for the realism sake of the modpack. Gives off the creepy vibes too.
3. Playing in the Dark - Not required, but could 100% be fun.
4. Playing with Friends - You can play with friends in the modpack, as far as I know of. I added Essential Mod for multiplayer, and Simple Voice Chat is also included! (SOME MODS COULD HAVE ISSUES, BUT YOU CAN CONFIG THEM IN THE MOD CONFIG MENU IF THERE ARE ANY PROBLEMS!)
5. DON'T CHANGE SHADER SETTINGS - I highly recommend to keep the same shaders that are equipped. They are set to the best option by standerd, so no need to change them.
