This mod-pack offers an extra hard and much more realistic immersive survival aspect in Minecraft. You need to gather flint (more abundant available), smash rocks (with the flint), craft a crude hatchet with sticks (smash leaves) and the knapped stone (you also need rope), if you are not already dead you need to gather and purify water before you get dehydrated. Also, don't stay in the desert too long, and try not to freeze to death in night and/or cold biomes.
