This modpack mixes magic and tech mods for a kind of sampler of the best and most popular Minecraft mods. I tried to put it together as a light, fun introduction to modded Minecraft that preserves something of the spirit of the vanilla version while offering improvements and exploration.

Utilities

• Prefab: Adds a bunch of craftable blueprints that can be used to instantly build premade structures. Also adds a ton of recipes for compressed blocks (like cobblestone, wood, dirt, netherrack)
• InstantUnify: Unifies ore types when dropped and picked up again for less inventory clutter and confusion
• Just Enough Items: In-game recipe and item search. Some integration with existing in-game mod manuals
• Advanced Finders: Essentially compasses that point to different ores/minerals within a small range. They make collecting basic materials much less of a grind
• Vanilla-Inspired Teleporters: Adds craftable teleporters
• GraveStone Mod: Generates a gravestone containing your inventory on death
• Giacomo's Experience Seedling: Adds a craftable seed that grows into a plant that produces experience
• Reliquary: Craftable charms that do a bunch of useful things, like transport large amounts of water or put out fires
• Chest Transporter: Adds a tool to pick chests up and move them to a different location without disturbing the contents.
• Open Blocks Elevator: Adds craftable elevator blocks

 

 

World/Biome

• Biomes O' Plenty: Pretty much the standard for adding new and interesting biomes to Minecraft world generation. Adds 60+ new biomes, as well as new trees and plants
• The Lost Cities: Generates empty cities that make for great bases or huge piles of resources that are otherwise kind of difficult to amass quickly in large quantities

 

Tech/Industry

• Immersive Engineering: Lots of big multiblock machines. Also working windmills
• Applied Energistics 2: Adds unique storage systems that can be accessed wirelessly, Skystone, and networked power generation/transfer
• AE2 Stuff: Add-on for Applied Energistics
• Buildcraft
• Thermal Expansion
• Tinker's Construct

 

 

Forestry

• Forestry: New trees! New bees! And butterflies!
• Gendustry: Forestry add-on. Turns the bee breeding system up to 11 and then industrializes it
• Binne's Mod: Forestry add-on. Adds more trees, bees, and butterflies
• Magic Bees: Forestry add-on. Adds magic-themed bee species
• More Bees: Forestry add-on. Adds… well, more bees
• Career Bees: Forestry add-on. Adds job-themed bee species

 

  

Decorative Blocks/Furniture

• Chisels & Bits: Allows you to carve and craft individual blocks
• Chisel: Adds a ton of block variations. Purely for decorative purposes!
• Garden Stuff: Candelabras, wrought-iron fences, and chains for chandeliers
• MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod: Adds functional house-themed blocks, like sinks, tables, and chairs.
• BiblioCraft: Adds functional bookshelves, weapon cases, potion shelves, clocks, and other furniture
• LandLust-Furniture: More decorative blocks, like dressers, mirrors, chairs, and benches
• Bonsai Trees: Adds a bonsai pot that grows miniature versions of vanilla and modded trees!

 

 

Tweak Systems/QoL Additions

• Clumps: Clumps XP drops together to help reduce lag
• Infinity/Mending Unnerf: Allows bows to be enchanted with both Infinity and Mending at the same time.
• Bow Infinity Fix: Bows with the Infinity enchantment no longer require you to have an arrow in your inventory
