AshenVow-1.0.0.zip
What's new
1.0.0
First release. Minecraft 1.21.1 / NeoForge 21.1.248, 138 mods.
Before you play — five files to add by hand
Five things in this pack have third-party downloads switched off by their
authors, so CurseForge is not allowed to hand them to a launcher. The
CurseForge app pauses during installation and asks you to fetch them; Prism,
MultiMC and ATLauncher skip them silently instead. Either way, the four .jar
files go into the instance's mods folder and the .zip into its
resourcepacks folder:
| Mod | File |
|---|---|
| Epic Fight – Mod Compat | epicfightcompat-1.1.0-mc1.21.1-neoforge.jar |
| Structory | Structory_26.2_v1.3.7.jar |
| Structory: Towers | Structory_Towers_26.1_v1.0.16.jar |
| Entity Culling | entityculling-neoforge-1.10.5-mc1.21.1.jar |
| Medieval Melodies | medieval-melodies-1.7-1.0.0.zip |
Mod Compat is the one that matters: it is half of what attaches Epic Fight movesets to the 500+ weapons the pack is built around. Without it a large part of the arsenal swings like a vanilla stick. Medieval Melodies is 135 MB of music and entirely skippable.
What's in it
Combat. Epic Fight is the backbone — real movesets, weight and commitment on every swing, stagger, and death from things that are trivial in vanilla. Its addons ride on top: Nightfall, Dawn Day, Weapons of Miracles, Progressive Difficulty, Weapons Compat and Mod Compat. There is deliberately no second combat or animation system anywhere in the pack, and no second stamina bar.
Death. Your corpse stays where you fell holding every item and all your experience. Walk back for it. Whatever killed you is still standing there.
Bonfires. Waystones are renamed to bonfires throughout and act as the checkpoint network the quest book is built around.
The quest book. 305 quests across 25 chapters, complete in English and Russian. It opens with a greeting, then a two-chapter primer that teaches the interface and Epic Fight outright — which key does what, how guard and stamina interact, where the recipes live — and closes with a finale that marks the pack finished. Every content mod in the pack is named or used somewhere in it, so nothing installed is left undiscoverable.
Bosses. L_Ender's Cataclysm, Mowzie's Mobs, Mutant Monsters, Illager Invasion, Born in Chaos, Sons of Sins.
Magic. Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks and Goety.
Loot. Apotheosis affixes, gems and five World Tiers, Relics, Artifacts, Lootr, Apothic Spawners.
World. Terralith, Tectonic, Nullscape, every one of YUNG's rebuilds, When Dungeons Arise, Dungeons and Taverns, Structory, Philip's Ruins, Deeper and Darker.
Atmosphere. AmbientSounds, Sound Physics Remastered, EnhancedVisuals, Fog, and a custom title screen, loading screens and quest-chapter art drawn for this pack.
Shaders. Complementary Unbound, Photon, Rethinking Voxels and MakeUp Ultra Fast all come with the pack and are off by default — a soulslike that stutters is not atmospheric. Turn one on in Video Settings → Shader Packs.
Not included
Three mods are not on CurseForge and cannot be shipped. The game runs fine without them; add them from Modrinth if you want what they do.
- Epic Fight × Iron's Spells — casting animations that let you throw spells from inside an Epic Fight stance instead of dropping out of it. Worth adding if you intend to play a caster.
- Noisium — faster world generation. Invisible otherwise.
- Drippy Loading Screen early window — the branded splash shown before the game window opens. It is an extra file on Drippy's own download, and a modpack manifest cannot reference one. Without it you get NeoForge's default early screen for a few seconds.
Defaults worth knowing about
- Ambient light is deliberately low (
gamma 0.35). Carry torches. - The pack ships with fullscreen on and GUI scale 3. Change both in Options if that does not suit your monitor.
- Better Leaves comes with the pack but is not enabled. Turn it on in Options → Resource Packs if you want it.
- The recipe viewer is EMI, not JEI. JEI is absent on purpose: Progressive Stages' JEI plugin hard-freezes the client after world join, and its EMI plugin does not.
