This modpack is in BETA! We are currently testing things out and adjusting the modpack accordantly, so beware of updates! If you encounter an issue, please feel free to report it here in the comments or on our Discord server. Thank you.
This pack takes you on a journey through eras of invention and discovery, with quests that function as researchable technologies.
There are three main branches of research, each unique to a distinct field: machine technologies, arcane arts, and exploratory discoveries. The discovery branch focuses on locating structures and dimensions, discover artefacts, and defeating creatures and bosses in your world, while the technology and arcane branches allow you to invest materials into advancing your knowledge and capabilities in over 300 available mods ranging from mostly tech mods to some magic mods as well.

The technology branch of research is the main branch of all research. This research tree consists of 100 technologies to research spread out in 9 eras.

Each tech you research will unlock blocks, tools, materials, entire mods when you complete them. This also means that when you start a new world, you won't know how to work with any blocks or items for the most part, and anything you try to interact with, will tell you that you cannot use it.
This is because everything have been locked into a technology, which you have to research. Though, wooden logs are included in things you do not know how to use from the start, you can still pick them up - this is important, because for your first research in the technology tree, you'll need wooden logs to complete it.

Wooden logs won't be the only thing you'll need for research - in fact, things you learn as you go on unlocking technologies will likely be useful as you go on in the research tree. Each era also increases the cost of technologies significantly - this is where machines and creating automations comes in handy, though not required by any quests or alike.
In fact, mods will mostly be as you remember them with their standard recipes with a few exceptions. It is more about when you unlock said mods which is the question at play in this modpack.

The arcane branch of research focuses on magic. While being the smallest of the three research branches, it houses everything when it comes to magic mods and magic based crafting.

This branch is, however, quite dependant on the technology branch research, and most if not all arcane research won't unlock until certain technologies are unlocked in the technology branch.

Unlike the other branches, the exploratory branch of research does not require resources to unlock but instead needs the player to find structures, dimensions, or defeating bosses to complete its quests. Like the arcane branch, some dimensions are locked by technologies in the research branch, which will be required in order to complete some of the quests in the exploratory branch.

This modpack offers over 20 bosses to defeat, most available immediately though not recommended to go for too early, while others are locked behind other bosses or discoveries.

On top of the research branches and quests, this modpack also offers 12 custom origin races made specifically for this pack with each having their own unique features.
Furthermore, you will be experiencing a semi-hardcore playstyle, because in this pack you have limited lives - 10 lives to be exact. Don't worry, your worlds won't be deleted if you die 10 times. You'll just be put into spectator mode and blinded.

In the introduction quests there will be information about how to get around the limited lives mechanic, if you don't want it in your game. :)
The modpack also uses Better Combat for (most of) its combat system. This means you'll be fighting in a distinct way from what you might be used to with the normal Minecraft combat system when in melee - Attacks will have cool animations and different ways of attacks depending on the type of weapon you're using. Together with Simply Swords, you get a good sortement of different types of weapons that give the player various attack styles.

Should you not be a fan of the new fighting system, we have purposely avoided making Tetra weapons compatible with it, which means, if you make a weapon from Tetra, you will be fighting with the normal combat system.
