Arlen's Additions is a small pack designed to add or change several minor things that I feel are missing from the base game, while still maintaining the feeling of vanilla Minecraft.

Improved World Generation:

Oceans now contain real fish, guardians, coral reefs and pirate ships.

Forests are now much more immersive with larger and better looking trees as well as leaves that you can walk through.

Villages have been greatly improved thanks to Recurrent Complex's better buildings and MCA's more interactive villagers.

More options for Builders:

Chisel and Quark for more blocks and textures.

Chisels & Bits for all the detail you could ever want.

Builder's Wands for larger projects.

Grappling Hook Launchers for improved mobility without overpowered creative flight.

Mob greifing is turned off by default.

Two new types of axes for faster and more pleasant wood gathering.

More dangerous but more immersive night:

In this pack, sleeping is disabled and Hardcore Darkness has been added. This is intended to encourage players to play through a darker, scarier night and to fight monsters more often rather than instantly skipping ahead to daytime. However, players are not just left to die in the dark. Torchmaster (by xalcon) adds Mega Torches which block hostile mob spawns within a 32 block radius, allowing players to build and enjoy the night in peace. Not to mention the fact that you won't have to spam torches all over your nice builds!

Recipes for CustomNPCs items:

This pack comes with a world that contains almost 70 Carpentry Bench recipes for items that are usually unobtainable in survival. The instructions for adding these recipes to your own world are found in a written book inside the nearby chest.
