Arboria

A 1.12.2 modpack aimed at improving every aspect of Minecraft. From combat and movement, to building and exploration; it's all gotten some love!

Welcome to Arboria!

Arboria is a 1.12.2 modpack aimed at improving every aspect of Minecraft. From combat and movement, to building and exploration; it's all gotten some love!

This modpack has been curated to expand upon every playstyle, and to give players more options and more freedom. The world is full of life as dynamic trees grow and birds roost in their branches. Farming is more dynamic as seasons affect your crops. Caving is now rewarding, immersive, and dangerous. Combat and movement are more dynamic and interesting, allowing you to dodge, block, deflect arrows, and slay your foes with more prowess than ever. Monsters are more varied, intelligent, and are armed to the teeth. Dungeons provide a potentially deadly shortcut to higher tiers of progression. Building is greatly improved with countless new blocks and options to protect your builds from monsters. Magic mods provide automation and many hours of extra content. Dimensions such the Aether, Atum, the Nether, and the Twilight Forest each provide their own unique landscapes and challenges. And finally, the Dragons of Ice & Fire provide an unrivaled end-game experience.

Future plans

The mods list for Arboria is unlikely to change much, if at all, in the future. However, there may be several changes made to the configs as well as additions to the overall aesthetics of the pack, such as a custom main menu etc.

Recommendations

This is a very resource-intensive pack since almost every single tree has been made dynamic. It should be safe to disable purely client-side mods such as Better Foliage if performance is an issue. The randomTickSpeed gamerule has also been set to 1 (default is 3) mostly for more realistic crop and tree growth in the context of the Extended Days mod, but also to significantly reduce CPU load. Increase it at your own risk.

Minimum recommended RAM: 8 GB

Optifine: OptiFine 1.12.2 HD U F5 should be compatible, but it might break some 3D item models such as the Biome Staff, making them invisible.

Important Note: First Launch

This pack contains mods that fix recipes and unify OreDictionary items. The very first time you launch the pack it will load and then terminate. This happens because certain recipes and items are being modified, and the pack is terminated to prevent duplicates. It may also say there is a missing dependency, but there isn't. Simply launch the pack again and it should work as intended.

This should only happen once during the very first launch of a freshly installed instance of the pack. Any further terminations or crashes are obviously not intended and should be reported.

A huge thank you to my friend PickleBuzz, who helped me come up with ideas and motivated me to publish this pack.

Thank you to all of the amazing mod developers and the CurseForge team who allow people like me to make modpacks!

This modpack is heavily inspired by the game Terraria.
