Origins allow you to choose an origin that has a special ability. Abilities range from being able to fly through walls as a vex to being a merlin that moves rapidly through water. Some are more basic than others. Choose an origin that fits your playstyle or you can choose one that is a challenge.
Some origins may bring a different Minecraft experience such as the stoneling which spawns you in a mineshaft and you can't go to the surface. It can be a fun and different way to play Minecraft.
