Start from scratch with equipment familiar to those who have experienced D&D, and chose your path from their. The world is teeming with creatures out to get you. How will you attempt to fend off this threat?
Will you focus on exploration and dungeon crawling, using hand-forged tools to help you along the way? Will you harness some of the many magical options, using the stars, your knowledge, nature or even your own life essence? Or will you choose the simple life, and simply farm crops and animals to live off the land? Perhaps even a little of all three?
As with any good story, the choice is in your hands now.
