You start in a cave deep underground with some grass, a tree and some torches. From this you will expand and gather materials to build a farm for crops and animals, make a lab and you can synthesize diamonds & create chemical weapons. There are machines to help with material processing, crop harvesting, mining and animal breeding plus other things. There is also a transport system that's easy to use to help you move around.
