AnomalyCraft Uncontained

A massive SCP-themed Minecraft modpack featuring 200 anomalies, mysterious containment facilities, and terrifying encounters in a world where the Foundation's greatest secrets have been unleashed and survival is never guaranteed.

The Foundation was never supposed to let any of this happen.

For as long as anyone can remember, the SCP Foundation has operated behind the scenes, keeping things that defy human understanding hidden from the rest of the world. Countless anomalies have been discovered over the years, each one presenting its own challenges for the people responsible for containing it. Some have been studied for decades without anyone fully understanding what they are or where they came from. Others are so dangerous that even the smallest mistake could have catastrophic consequences. The Foundation's purpose has always been to make sure humanity can continue living without ever knowing just how strange the universe really is.

But what if that secrecy was no longer possible? What if the things the Foundation spent so long hiding were suddenly out there for anyone to encounter? That's the idea behind AnomalyCraft Uncontained, a Minecraft modpack that brings the bizarre and often terrifying world of the SCP Foundation into an experience where you never quite know what you're going to find. With the veil broken, the anomalous is no longer something that exists only in classified documents.

With 200 SCP entries represented through an extensive collection of mods, AnomalyCraft Uncontained is intended to capture as much of the SCP universe as possible. You'll encounter familiar anomalies that longtime fans will recognize immediately, but there are also plenty of obscure ones that deserve just as much attention. Some come from international branches of the SCP Wiki, while others are joke entries that remind us the Foundation's archives aren't always meant to be taken seriously. I've tried to include as much variety as possible because reducing the SCP universe to nothing but hostile monsters would miss much of what makes it interesting.

And believe me, not everything you discover is going to try to kill you. There are plenty of anomalies that are relatively harmless, and some might even turn out to be useful. You could stumble across an object that does something completely unexpected or encounter a creature that's more curious than threatening. Part of the fun comes from figuring out what you're dealing with before deciding what to do about it. Of course, that curiosity can get you into trouble when you encounter something that would have been better left alone.

Then there are the SCPs that give the Foundation a very good reason to exist. Some are incredibly aggressive, while others only become dangerous when you make a particular mistake. You might have to be careful where you look, or you might find yourself desperately trying to escape something that refuses to stop following you. Not every threat can be dealt with by swinging a sword, and charging into an encounter without knowing anything about your opponent is rarely a good idea. Sometimes surviving is less about being powerful and more about understanding what you're up against.

I've also put a lot of attention into making the atmosphere feel right. The SCP universe has always been especially effective at making ordinary places feel deeply unsettling, and I wanted that same feeling in Minecraft. Darkness becomes much more intimidating when you know what kinds of things might be hiding in it. Strange noises can echo through enclosed spaces, and even an empty hallway can make you wonder whether you're actually alone. The goal isn't to have something constantly jumping out at you, but to create that lingering uncertainty that makes SCP stories so memorable.

Of course, it wouldn't feel like the SCP Foundation without the ability to build your own facilities. The modpack includes a large selection of construction materials and security equipment that can be used to design containment chambers and research installations. You can create areas specifically intended to house dangerous entities or construct elaborate displays for the anomalous objects you've collected. Whether you want to recreate a famous Foundation site or design an entirely original one, there's plenty of room to experiment. Just remember that building a containment chamber and actually keeping something contained are two very different accomplishments.

The world also extends well beyond the places you'd normally explore in Minecraft. Certain anomalies are connected to strange dimensions that can be reached through unusual means, and some of these locations are unlike anything you'll find in the Overworld. What seems like an ordinary discovery might lead to an environment where your usual understanding of survival no longer applies. These places can be fascinating to explore, but they aren't necessarily somewhere you'll want to stay. Getting into an anomalous dimension is one thing. Finding your way back is another.

Despite the enormous amount of SCP content, I still wanted AnomalyCraft Uncontained to feel like Minecraft. You can build a home and spend time developing your own corner of the world without constantly chasing the next anomaly. You might imagine yourself as a Foundation researcher determined to contain everything you discover, or simply as someone trying to survive in a reality that no longer makes sense. How seriously you take the containment side of things is entirely up to you. The freedom to approach this strange world in your own way is an important part of the experience.

Ultimately, AnomalyCraft Uncontained is my attempt to bring together as much of the SCP universe as I reasonably can within Minecraft. I've always found the sheer imagination behind the SCP Foundation fascinating, especially the way thousands of completely different ideas can exist within the same fictional universe. This modpack takes that variety and puts it into a world where you can actually interact with many of those ideas yourself. It's meant to be unsettling at times, genuinely challenging at others, and occasionally so absurd that you can't help but laugh. That's part of the charm of SCP, and I wouldn't want to lose it.

The Foundation has spent its entire existence trying to keep the anomalous world separate from everything we consider normal. In AnomalyCraft Uncontained, that separation is gone, and all those carefully guarded secrets have become part of everyday life. You can try to restore some semblance of order or simply learn to survive in a world that's become far stranger than it was ever meant to be. Whatever you decide, there's one thing you should probably understand before stepping outside.

Containment is no longer guaranteed.

I created the Concordance Codex, an expansion on the Magic: The Gathering color wheel and color philosophy, and I created a bunch of modpacks that each represent a different elemental or structural force within the Codex. BUDDER!!
