1.16.5 modpack based around exploration, pvp and origins

Alpha Modpack: offbeat is meant to be a modpack that prioritizes having fun with friends and discovering new and interesting mods.

 

THE EARLY GAME

It's in the player's best interest to start investing into any of the 3 power generation mods (Immersive Engineering, Electrodynamics w/ Assembly Lines and Nuclear Science) as soon as possible and start collecting resources for storage, Backpacks are very important. Farming for Blockheads is useful for buying any sappling possible. Loot smaller dungeons or play the games of the Loot Games dungeon mod for easy loot. Try finding horses because they are the best early game means of transportation. Horses can carry two people now and can pull carts. If you're not an Aerial type Origin you should look into Simple Planes or taming a dragon 🤠. Animal Crops will be very useful for farms in this stage of the game. Don't forget to look for the Inventory Pets which bring awesome and powerful abilities.

 

THE MID GAME

Conquer the Nether and collect as much Netherite as you can. The search for the eyes has started and the search for the End Castle from End Remastered probably ended. Immersive Railroading will be the main way of travel on the server and the coolest. Ice highways in the Nether are still good but why do that when you have trains? Refined Storage and Ender Storage are your top priority right now, also upgrading your backpack. You should also invest your time into Blastcraft and Landmines for base protection and Ballistix so your faction maintains its Global Power status. Mahou Tsukai, Astral Sorcery and Vampirism are this modpack's main magic mods and investing you time into them will prove useful, like Mahou Tsukai's Caliburn, Astral Sorcery's Mantles and Vampirism's vampiric powers. Right now you should start adventuring into the Twilight Forest or chill out in Tropicraft's dimension on a nice hammock drinking Piña Colada. For builders there is Macaw's Doors and Walls, Chisel, Platforms, Blockcarpentry, Comforts, MrCrayfish' Furniture, Supplementaries, Decorative Blocks, Thatched and Tabletop Games. You may have noticed that sometimes mobs drop hearts, those hearts are used to make an amulet for more HP (up to 12 extra hearts) from the mod Baubley Heart Canisters to help the Origins with less HP stand a chance in PvP. Woot will be a fun way of mob farming, so try it out. Also try out Jousting as a fun way to duel your friends or opposing clan members.

 

THE ENDGAME

 

 The space race begins, or it has already begun. Conquer the Solar System and other Systems with the Advanced Rocketry mod. Begin your work on RFTools Dimensions. The Eyes have been found and a race to the End begins, or in a moment of harmony, everyone joins forces to defeat the Ender Dragon. The first time will be easy, but Progressive Bosses will make every new fight challenging. Now, in the Endgame, Dragonsteel gear is essential alongside Upgraded Netherite. As a nice reward, Enderite will be a cool decorative armour. The End is a flourishing alien landscape meant to be explored. The higher tier Dungeons in the Overworld will now be a piece of cake, but the real threat will be the players that wield the Antimatter and Dark Matter explosives which can obliterate any block except bedrock. Will the players destroy eachother in the Overworld with their nukes and escape to other dimensions or make a truce to never use these powerful weapons?

 

Origins:

 

  1. Avian (no) - obsulete
  2. Elytrian (aerial/PvP) - double damage while airborne
  3. Thunderborne (aerial/PvP) - almost creative flight and lighting abilities - works well with lightning dragons
  4. Arachnid (insect) - cobweb is useful for early game bases
  5. Actian (insect/aerial) - 1 block tall
  6. Merling (aquatic) - best aquatic origin by far
  7. Oceankin (aquatic/support) - gives Conduit Power to nearby players
  8. Ice Golem (aquatic/PvP) - snowballs give slowness
  9. Blazeborn (nether/PvP) - like 2.5 more damage while on fire, works well with Puppeteer
  10. Demon (nether/PvP) - making a mob grinder is recommended
  11. Medusa (poison/evolving) - "Monster Hunter" and "Free the End"
  12. Inkbat Puppeteer (support/PvP) - works well with Blazeborn
  13. Inkbat Twin (support*/PvP) - must pair with another Twin to work properly
  14. Enderian (teleport/PvP)
  15. Phantom (phasing)
  16. Assault Mech (PvP/defense) - 3.5 blocks tall, rocket launcher and machine gun
  17. Candy Person (utility/defense) - making a sugar cane farm is recommended
  18. Shulk (utility/defense) - has a 9 slot backpack that works like an enderchest
  19. Killorm (morphing) - must kill the origin's corresponding mob, ex: Enderman --> Enderian
  20. Feline (no) - just don't pick this origin

 

Vampirism:

Brings two factions to the game: Vampires and Vampire Hunters. Nether type and Aquatic type Origins are best suited for Vampires, because some of their abilities remove the downsides of being a Vampire, like fire immunity and water breathing.
