Summary

Afraid of the Dark utilizes modifications to the mob AI to make them smarter and more difficult. For the full experience, we recommend you play in Hard mode to feel the full effects. We have given you access to some of the best tech and magic mods to help level you up and enter into the unknown wild. Be warned, a beast stalks the darkest shadows, waiting for you.

This modpack has been in testing for about two months and is finally ready for public use. It's on the heavier side of packs, mostly because I really enjoy kitchen-sink style packs that have increased difficulty. This way I can go along at my own speed and tech up as needed. Please leave any issues you find and I'm happy to take care of it. This is my second modpack so I'm still new to the scene but I greatly enjoy making them.

Getting Started

When you first spawn into the world, the first thing you're going to want to do is find a bed and find a small whole in the wall where you can start mining during your first night. You won't be able to see much in the darkness, so mining coal will be an immediate need from the get-go. Once you have some torches and stone tools, you should begin mining and make yourself some armor. The day time is pretty tame if you can stay away from the big beasts that stalk to land, vanilla mobs won't be bothering you in the sunlight. I recommend staying away from the Nether until you're prepared for a fight. The pigmen don't like people touching their things and the fortresses just weren't strong enough to hold back the horrors that live within.
