Intention of the pack:
The forge modpack is for a mixed user group starting form child age to experienced player in a friendly and supportive group. It is intended for long-term use and player development (from basics to learning mods).
There is a lot of simplification included (gameplay/villagers) up to a point where it is out right cheating (resource generation).
You can use the configuration of every mod to give the twist you would like to archive.
It runs on older hardware, but you need to be able to provide 8GB ram and use java arguments. If a lot of generation is running, your framerate will drop, worldpregen is included and advice to be used when entering new regions/dimensions.
There is quite a bit of performance optimisation on client and server side.
Cornerstones of the pack:
Every journey starts with your first step.
You start off easy (Login Protection) in an overworld village, if there is one in your seed (Village Spawn point).
You leave a corpse if you die, with all your inventory saved.
You have a trash slot in your inventory.
You may use Waypoints/-stones and your Home command.
You can start easy vanilla style and stay on this level or you can start with any included mod (tec/magic) you like. With children as a part of the audience you need mods where you see that something is happening and not a magic block. We take Create/Botania to solve this in contrast to Mekanism, Ender IO or Industrial foregoing which are included as well.
As there are many mods present Almost Unified and Polymorph are included to prevent mix-ups.
There is no fixed progression and it can get as complex as you like
( use the different dimensions to automate and generate everything).
You are not dependent on complex mods (Integrated Dynamics or Applied Energistics 2).
Most of the time there is a simple way of doing things and a sophisticated way with a lot more options. As an example, warehousing you start with Chests/drawers/backpack [sophisticated] and then get the ender versions or directly jump to applied energetics.
To not get lost there is Xaero's Mini /World Map and a few compasses.
For the long run and to optimise performance there is pipez and flux networks to get everything from A to B.
Believe me you have got a Lot to do. Perhaps stay where you are and build your own city (Minecolonies) with villagers or start your endless exploration.
From dungeons to other dimensions or even distant planets either by your own build rocket or you use a stargate or ride a dragon?
But be careful and gear up you might wake hostile entities.
The mod pack is only published on Curseforge and every mod holds its own rights.
