The A&A Factions Pack is a unique pack designed for use in the A&A Factions Server. Of course, it was designed with factions in mind, and thus there is a very central focus on PvP combat. This is seen in the use of MrCrayfish's Guns mod and mods like SecurityCraft. These mods put the main emphasis on raiding and protecting your own base from raiders. In the pack, there is an emphasis on tech over magic, because I decided that many magic mods can reach game-breaking levels. The tech aspects of this modpack include mods such as Thermal, Mekanism, and Galacticraft. Mekanism has been balanced out to not include the Digital Miner, but you can change this on your own in the config files. The reasoning behind the exclusion of the Digital Miner is because past servers I've played on had a distinct meta in which you would rush the Digital Miner and then you were set. I wanted the energy-to-ore ratio to be raised, so I opted out of the very powerful Digital Miner and instead placed Environmental Tech in the modpack. Environmental Tech offers a new level of progression to the game from the different levels of controllers and gems. I wanted to reward players for working hard through this pack, but did not want them to have too much of a huge advantage over new players like the Digital Miner would give them. There is definitely a limit to how far you can go in this pack in terms of power, because I wanted new players to have a chance at growing larger. I would recommend turning off player visibility in JourneyMap to prevent players from finding each other too easily (this was a problem on a previous server). Galacticraft offers the players a whole new set of dimensions to explore and take their wars to in a fully-fledged factions server. The whole crux of the pack is to make it to space to get away from the more populated warzones and live a more peaceful life among the stars in a space station where you can work in peace and go back down to the surface to do a raid every now and again.
