The concepts beneath "A Journey to the Moon" are pragmatic engineering to reach space using agriculture, transportation, technology and automation. This modpack try to be very coherent and logical accross the differents mods using a lot of config, wordgen and zenscript to fill the gap. This pack try to be hard without be grindy so you need to work smarter and not harder.

A extensive quest system is used to display the progression (see Images) needed to reach space. The progression is logicial with many customs recipes, but with the quest and JEI it's easy to know what should be your next step. Most recipes are organized to create "work cell", an arrangement of resources in a manufacturing environment to improve the quality, speed and cost of the process, allowing you to modernize your production.
Techtree
This modpack blend in a single techtree Horse Power, Immersive Engineering (and addons), NuclearCraft, AdvRocketry, Techreborn, Pneumaticcraft and Emerging Technology with a cross mod progression. Some duplicate machine was removed, some normalized or tiered. Automation are available using Inductive Logistics, Redstone control, Steve's Cart and Open Computer.
Create big farm using Growthcraft, Agricraft and Animania.
Recipes
There is never "one fit all" solution, multiple path are available with more or less efficiency;
Many electronics parts are very generic and used in a lot of recipes (PCB, Transistor, MicroChip, Basic Circuit, Advanced Circuit, Light, Motor, Servo, Solar Panel, Cable, etc.), you should create supply chain to automate it (except if you like micro crafting all the time...);
Many Open Computer parts are needed to progress, and many addons are also available, learn LUA and automate your factory using computer.
Power generation,
Oil is very useful, and we merge Bituminous sand, buildcraft oil, pneumaticraft oil, to create a production chain based mainly on IE, we do also cross mod compatibility to help to upgrade part of the process
Most oils are burnable inside furnace and give you hundred of smelt but most of your stack size is 8 so automate it early;
Steam is more complex, used in some recipes and we altered the recipe from Immersive Tech to be more compatible with Nuclear Craft. We generate Steam Reservoir to allow dry steam geothermal plant using pumpjack;
Most power generator, battery, solar, kinetic, were altered to be very similar between mod, and have a similar capacity based on the used parts.
Ore distributions
Copper and Tin are available everywhere allowing easy Bronze Tools/Age;
Most of the ores are located in cluster (geolosys), many have surface indication and somes are biomes dependant and may be very far away. Cave are more complex and we use underground biome;
Some nether ressource are also available in the overworld (Quartz and Search for blue flame in dead swamp or dead forest for soulsand and alloy it to get netherack)
Most post Steel age ressources (Lithium, Thorium, Boron, etc.. ) are available at <30 anywhere with a higher harvest level and need specific machine to be useful
Passive way to gather many ressources are available using sifter, water strainer and mystical agriculture, because it's hard to be self sufficient in space.
Transportation
This modpack use a very low stacksize and stockage option are limited;
Automation are available at any ages , with many upgrades, but pipes/buffer/tank are costly, think and plan accordingly;
Horse and carriage are very useful, and may be interfaced with the "Entity Interface" allowing some kind of loading/unloading automation.
Railcraft is used at first and you may upgrade to Immersive Railroading in mid game;
Waystone, Portability Void Dimension are available to manage long distance travel;
Misc
Seasons change over time, Water can freeze, more snow, more rain, this impact transportation, agriculture and power generation, so plan accordly.
