ZV-Houses 1.1.11 — ten fixes, three of them serious

Everything from 1.1.10 is included; that version was documentation-only and was never released on its own.

Fixed — please update

  • Server crash on multiplayer. With a shelf's inventory open, if another player broke one of the connected shelves and put a different container in its place, clicking that tab crashed the server — and it crashed again on every restart until the world moved past it. Shelf tabs now refuse anything that is not a shelf. This could also happen in single player, because a house being built one layer at a time can replace a shelf while its inventory is open.
  • A shelf tab could open someone else's chest. The same gap let a chest, barrel or shulker box placed where a connected shelf used to be be opened straight through the shelf's tab strip, ignoring any lock on it.
  • Explosions destroyed a blueprint station outright. A creeper or TNT took the station, the blueprint and every material banked inside it, and dropped nothing at all. A blown-up station now returns the blueprint with its deposited materials intact, exactly as breaking one by hand does.

Fixed — building and materials

  • Blueprint stations accepted any material from a hopper. The deposit screen correctly refused wrong items when you dragged them in, but a hopper could push in anything — so a house could be paid for with dirt. Automation is now held to exactly the same rules as the deposit screen. Feeding a station the correct materials with a hopper still works.
  • Polished stone stopped counting as refined in some modpacks. Where another mod broadens Minecraft's shared "stone" tag — Balm does, and it arrives as a requirement of Waystones — polished andesite, diorite, granite and deepslate were being treated as rough stone instead of refined. The material tiers no longer depend on how other mods label a block.
  • The Build button destroyed items left in station slots the chosen house did not use. They are now returned.
  • A house build left running when you quit to title kept running against the closed world, and the materials you had already paid were gone with nothing to show for them. Builds now end with the world.

Fixed — blocks and behaviour

  • Mobs and villagers walked into closed shutters and thin walls and ground against them, because those nineteen blocks reported themselves walkable while being solid. They now path around, and villagers navigate shuttered houses properly.
  • Shuttered shelves could hang open forever if you disconnected, died, or unloaded the chunk with the inventory open. They now close on their own.
  • Breaking a shelf holding a loot table could return its contents and leave the shelf standing, over and over. Only reachable through commands or a datapack, but it is closed.
  • Locked shelves — from an adventure map or datapack — opened for anyone. The lock is now honoured.
  • A shelf renamed on an anvil showed the generic block name on its inventory screen instead of the name you gave it.
  • Bedside tables and counters had selection outlines that cut through their drawer fronts.
  • Shelves and blueprint stations can now be inspected in spectator mode, like every vanilla container.
  • Blueprint station wireframes could linger from a previous world in single player, or vanish while the station was still standing.

Under the hood

  • First automated test suite on this version: 27 in-game tests, each one written against the unfixed code and confirmed failing before its fix landed.
  • Verified additionally by the pre-ship invariant check, the data test suite, and a headless sweep that builds all 26 houses and checks every one for stray marker blocks.
  • The mod description and README were corrected in 1.1.10: ZV-Houses runs standalone, and the old text wrongly implied it required ZombieVillage.

Requires / compatible with

  • Minecraft 1.21.1
  • NeoForge 21.1.224 or newer
  • No other mods required. ZV-Houses runs standalone: you can craft Blueprints and build every design yourself. Installing ZombieVillage adds villagers who build them for you.

Migration notes

  • Existing worlds, placed stations and finished houses are unaffected. No action needed.
  • A shuttered shelf already stuck open from the old bug will stay open until you open and close its inventory once, which fixes it permanently.
  • This is a separate line from the Minecraft 26.1 builds and does not supersede them.
