Configurable Zombie Drops
Configurable extra item drops for zombie-family mobs — item, chance, and stack size per entry.
Stock "zombies drop more loot" mods give you whatever the author hardcoded.
Zombie Custom Drops puts you in control. Choose which items drop, set the drop chance, and configure stack sizes for each entry. Changes are applied automatically when the configuration file is saved.
Features
- Per-entry drop rules —
item;chance;min;max, with each entry rolling independently. - Whole zombie family — Zombies, husks, drowned, zombie villagers, and zombified piglins.
- Modded items supported — Any registered
namespace:itemID, including TaCZ ammunition, mod currency, and quest items. - Entity-type tags — Support for tags such as
#minecraft:undeadand#forge:zombies. - Player-kill option — Restrict extra drops to mobs killed by players.
- Automatic config reload — Changes apply when the configuration file is saved, without running
/reload. - Zero dependencies — A single Forge mod JAR.
Configuration
The configuration file is created on first launch:
config/zombie_custom_drops-common.toml
[drops]
# Format: "namespace:item;chance;min;max"
# Chance ranges from 0.0 to 1.0.
# Min and max are optional and default to 1.

Drop entry format
Each entry uses the following format:
item;chance;min;max
| Field | Type | Example | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Item | namespace:item |
tacz:ammo |
Registered item ID, including modded items |
| Chance | Decimal | 0.08 |
8% chance per entry |
| Min | Integer | 4 |
Minimum stack size |
| Max | Integer | 12 |
Maximum stack size |
The minimum and maximum stack sizes are optional. If omitted, the stack size defaults to 1.
Each configured entry is rolled independently, so multiple extra drops can occur from a single kill.
