The ritual and your blade
- Craft a Gikongan (soul candy), the only crafting recipe in the mod. No weapon is ever craftable.
- First use pulls you into your Inner World, where a figure asks three questions and offers you a choice: accept the blade assigned from your username, reject it and try again later, or pick your own from all fifteen.
- Fifteen canon Zanpakutō, each with its own name, wielder, lore and release command.
- One blade grows in place from Blank through Awakened, Named, Shikai and Bankai. It is always the same item in your hand, so enchantments survive every stage transition.
- Bankai is not bought with XP. Crossing 2,000 grants eligibility; meditating is what performs the transition.
- Kyōka Suigetsu and Wabisuke cap at Shikai, matching canon.
- Press R to release or seal your blade, cycling sealed to Shikai to Bankai. Holding a released form costs Reiatsu every tick.
Spirit form
- Your body stays where you left it: visible, damageable, and holding your entire inventory. A spirit carries its Zanpakutō and nothing else.
- Separate health pools for spirit and body. Your body mends while you are inside it.
- Get back in by walking to your body and right-clicking within about 6 blocks. There is no teleport home.
- A dropped Zanpakutō flies back to its owner, does not despawn, and is fireproof.
- Dying as a spirit keeps everything your body was carrying.
- The Severing Gikongan resets the ritual and destroys your current blade, for anyone who wants a different fate.
Reiatsu and flight
- Reiatsu replaces the hunger bar in spirit form, since a spirit does not eat.
- Two quantities behind one word: capacity is your permanent power level and only grows, and the pool is what is currently available out of it.
- V to fly. Momentum based, so you accelerate, coast, and have to turn and burn to stop.
- Running the pool dry lowers you gently to the ground instead of dropping you. Landing under power is never treated as a fall.
- Reiatsu drives health regeneration in spirit form. A low pool means a body that mends badly.
- Capacity grows three ways: killing Hollows, drifting slowly upward while in spirit form up to a soft cap, and the Reiryoku Pill.
- No flight in the Inner World. It is a void with one platform, and running dry over it would strand you.
Hollows and combat
- Hollows spawn near players in spirit form and are the only source of sword XP.
- They aggro on eye contact and stalk you until you look at them.
- Ordinary hostile mobs hunt your unattended body and cannot see or damage a spirit. Hollows invert both rules.
Items
- Gikongan. Enter and leave spirit form. The mod's only recipe.
- Severing Gikongan. Reset the ritual and your blade.
- Reiryoku Pill. Raises Reiatsu capacity. Creative only.
- Hollow Shard. Feeds sword XP to a held blade. Creative only.
Visuals
- Your discarded body renders in your real skin, lying down, under a red beacon beam only you can see.
- Hollows render translucent, with the mask and chest hole staying solid.
- Your own spirit renders as a translucent ghost.
