Forge flying swords from familiar Minecraft materials, command them in formation, and take to the sky.
Yujian Craft is an original flying-sword combat and crafting mod for Minecraft Forge. Built around vanilla materials and survival progression, it adds six-implement formations, manual and automatic targeting, six Yujian arts, a five-stage close-range combo stance, sword riding, reversible sword modules, Spirit Ore, and a player-performed tempering ritual that can turn weapons, shields, tools, and fishing implements into Myriad artifacts.

Dynamic Sword Formations

Six flying swords form up behind the player and move smoothly between docking, attack, piercing, and return states. Three formations use different clearance routes to avoid passing through the player. Blade direction, energy shells, flowing light, material-colored trails, and flight audio reinforce speed and impact.
- Mode A โ Forward Fan (default): clears the player, climbs, then pursues the target.
- Mode B โ Ring: docks around the rear flanks and launches directly forward.
- Mode C โ Side-blade Fan: preserves the original side-facing visual style while using Mode A routing.
- Single Pass: each sword returns to formation after one successful hit.
- Repeated Piercing: swords pass through the target, fly onward, and curve back until the target dies or becomes invalid.
0.13.17 Spotlight โ Taixu Sword Array

Sword Array has been rebuilt as a large-scale celestial performance. All six implements must be ready before casting. They occupy stations above the target while a Gilded or Tricolour seal rotates, tracks and repeatedly rains ring-shaped sword-qi. The finisher calls down a colossal copy of the active flying sword, preserving its model, energy shell and installed-core visuals. The sequence still completes after an early target death, while suppression keeps ordinary targets from producing abrupt tracking motion.
Aim at a valid target and press H; no persistent target lock is required. Press Ctrl+K to switch seal style. The authored post-processing timeline combines camera impact, distortion, radial blur, restrained chromatic separation, monochrome threshold impact and controlled colour recovery. A dedicated render signal distinguishes the array from sky and sun. Brightness and optional atmospheric details can be adjusted or disabled, and the final impact never destroys blocks.
0.13.17 Spotlight โ Yujian Combo Stance

Press X while all six implements are deployed to enter Yujian Combo Stance, a separate fast-paced mid-range combat system. Its five-stage attack chain uses left and right triple cross-piercing, a close circular sweep, a retreat-and-charge six-sword release, and an accelerated giant-sword array finisher.
Modern input buffering accepts the next click before the current stage ends, so rapid inputs flow into the following attack instead of being discarded. Soft targeting favours enemies near the crosshair without permanently grabbing the camera, while same-frame client trajectory reconstruction keeps the formation visually attached during player movement. Damage, friendly fire and finisher multipliers remain server-authoritative.

Three Targeting Styles
- Crosshair Lock (default): left-click the creature under the crosshair. There is no aim assist or timed automatic switching.
- Auto Targeting: automatically selects a valid target within the server-defined radius.
- Spirit Sword Guidance: left-click to launch every ready sword, steer them by view direction without a normal distance limit, then right-click to commit them to a target.

Manual targeting can select other players when friendly fire and server rules allow it. Final target, damage, and effect validation remain server-authoritative.
Sword Riding

Once Sword Riding is enabled, carrying any flying sword in the inventory is enough to take off or land with a double-tap of Space. The riding sword is separate from the six combat swords, so it never consumes a sword from the active formation. Vertical control, steering, and confined-space behaviour are designed around third-person play.
Spirit Ore and the Essentials of Yujian
Spirit Ore now generates in the Overworld and can be mined into Spirit Crystals. These crystals connect flying swords, workstations, the guidebook, and spirit tempering to a dedicated survival resource line instead of relying only on common vanilla valuables. Existing worlds can generate the ore by exploring newly generated chunks.
Every player receives an Essentials of Yujian guide the first time they join a world. It is also craftable from a book and a Spirit Crystal. The reorganized sixteen-page bilingual guide opens with a concise overview and a clickable chapter directory. It reads the player's current key bindings instead of hard-coding defaults, and covers resources, recipes, targeting, formations, every art, Combo Stance, sword riding, modules, Myriad tempering, trial restrictions, damage, multiplayer rules, and troubleshooting.
Spirit Tempering and Myriad Flying Swords

The Spirit Tempering Table combines one non-stackable weapon, shield, tool, or fishing implement with a native flying-sword core. Before entering the ritual, the player first defines the implement's nature, then calibrates model orientation, scale, glow style, aura radius, and aura length in a live preview. Confirming the ritual consumes experience and the flying-sword core, then sends the player to a dedicated Spirit Trial arena.
- The player personally attacks a trial dummy for ten seconds; there is no automated fake-player estimate.
- The resulting DPS reforges the weapon's intrinsic melee and per-pierce damage.
- Native flying swords can also be re-tempered while retaining vanilla enchantments.
- Each individual item supports at most two temperings.
- Re-tempering a flying sword removes Yujian Craft's detachable modules as the cost of reforging its foundation; vanilla and third-party enchantments are preserved.
- Only the item undergoing the ritual and its authorized trial sword can contribute damage, preventing inventory swapping and multi-weapon inflation.
- Every usable flying sword shows its live main-hand damage, current per-pierce damage, and temper count in the tooltip.
Tempered items retain their original item model, name, enchantments, durability system, and normal left-click melee ability. Server owners can enable, disable, or override registered Myriad weapons through the world-specific server catalogue.
Myriad Implement Arts
Deploying an array selects the implement nature's default art: blades use Piercing, heavy weapons Sweep, ranged weapons Sword Array, shields Guard, tools Toolcraft, rods Spirit Fishing, and unclassified implements Piercing. Players may still switch afterwards unless the server applies an item-specific allow-list. Arts remain independent from A/B/C docking formations.
| Art | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| Piercing Art | Classic single sorties, relentless piercing, and Spirit Sword Guidance |
| Circling Sweep | Six implements complete several fast visible circuits, with one hit per implement and cycle |
| Sword Array Art | Requires all six implements, forms a Gilded or Tricolour celestial seal, rains ring-shaped sword-qi, and ends with a colossal copy of the active flying sword; the non-griefing sequence completes even after an early kill |
| Myriad Guard | Directional interception reflects capped percentage damage, pays scaled durability, and passes installed core effects to the attacker |
| Spirit Toolcraft | Every G press dispatches the next ready implement; up to six blocks can be mined concurrently under vanilla tool rules |
| Spirit Fishing | Aim directly at water and dispatch up to six concurrent fishing implements; loot returns to inventory |
Players select an art in Ctrl+I or cycle server-permitted arts with Ctrl+J; each switch shows a restrained cyan-white calligraphy notice. Server owners can configure ranges, damage multipliers, cooldowns, target caps, reflection, and waiting times in serverconfig/yujiancraft-techniques-server.toml, and can use roleOverride, defaultTechnique, and allowedTechniques per registered item ID. Toolcraft and Spirit Fishing can emit rate-limited, non-griefing echoes of installed cores. Spirit Fishing respects Luck, Luck of the Sea, and Lure. Optimized third person submits the actual screen-centre block while the server still validates reach, obstruction, and loaded chunks.
The Spirit Replenishing Table consumes one Spirit Crystal to restore 25% of a flying sword's combined physical and module durability. It preserves the item, enchantments, shaping data, and every installed module.
Flying Sword Workbench and Reversible Modules

The Flying Sword Workbench installs, replaces, and removes modules while returning detached materials. Its live preview uses the same sword renderer as combat; drag to rotate and use the mouse wheel to zoom. Tiered modules normally consume 1 / 16 / 64 items for levels I / II / III.
| Material | Module | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Blaze Powder | Flame Sigil | Custom burning and blade-edge sparks |
| Lightning Rod | Thunder Core | Non-destructive visual lightning with configurable damage |
| Poisonous Potato | Venom Core | Custom poison and a mist trail |
| Gunpowder | Burst Core | Non-destructive blast and an orange-red pulse |
| Arrow | Arrow Rain | Physical arrows from above with wind streaks |
| Emerald | Tempered Edge | Increases direct piercing damage |
| Diamond | Enduring Core | Increases maximum durability |
| Nether Star | Indestructible | Prevents durability loss |
| Magma Block | Molten Sword Heart | White-hot energy blade appearance |
Hit effects share a per-target server cooldown to keep repeated piercing efficient. Installed modules add restrained sparks, arcs, mist, pulses, or wind streaks. Short flashes, impact rings, and layered audio make each strike readable without overwhelming the screen.
Swords, Crafting, and Repair
The mod includes wood, stone, iron, gold, diamond, and netherite flying swords, plus matching Spiritforged variants.
To craft a base flying sword, place the matching vanilla sword in the centre, one related material on each cardinal side, and Spirit Crystals in the four corners. Surround a base flying sword with eight more Spirit Crystals to create its Spiritforged counterpart.
| Flying Sword | Four Cardinal Materials |
|---|---|
| Wooden | Oak Planks ร4 |
| Stone | Cobblestone ร4 |
| Iron | Iron Ingots ร4 |
| Golden | Gold Ingots ร4 |
| Diamond | Diamonds ร4 |
| Netherite | Netherite Scraps ร4 |
Flying Sword Workbench recipe: place a crafting table in the centre, iron ingots on the four cardinal sides, and Spirit Crystals in the corners.
Spirit Tempering Table recipe: place a smithing table in the centre, lapis lazuli on the four cardinal sides, and Spirit Crystals in the corners. Base materials also repair their matching flying swords in a vanilla anvil.

Installation and Compatibility
- Install Minecraft
1.20.1, Forge47.4.22, and Java17. - Download
yujiancraft-<version>.jarand place it in the instance'smodsfolder. - In multiplayer, clients and the server should use the same mod version.
This is not a client-only mod. Preview releases may change item data, configuration formats, and balance. Back up worlds before updating.
Spirit Ore only appears in newly generated terrain. Existing worlds remain usable, but players must explore new chunks to find naturally generated ore.
Version 0.9.17 changed the internal mod ID from swordflight to yujiancraft. Items, blocks, and configuration files from older versions do not migrate automatically.
Settings and Multiplayer
Ctrl+I exposes targeting, attack mode, the over-the-shoulder camera, sword riding, visual effects, and brightness levels. Shader detection automatically selects a softer brightness profile, while players remain free to reduce or disable effects.
On first launch, the mod creates config/yujiancraft/client-options.json. Setting showDeveloperOptions to true exposes developer options to players with OP level 2. Damage, targets, effects, and balance remain server-authoritative; camera, crosshair, brightness, and local audiovisual experiments are client-side presentation.
Bright flashes and shader combinations may cause discomfort. Players sensitive to flashing imagery should disable bright effects and stop immediately if discomfort occurs.
