Description

Yugioh TCG: Duel Monsters + GX

Collect cards. Build your deck. It's time to duel.

Bring the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card experience into Minecraft. Build a deck from 2,263 collectible cards, challenge anime characters in a 100-stage campaign, and duel your friends. Buy cards from village vendors, reveal new cards in booster packs, and trade for the missing pieces of your next deck.

Your goal: discover every card and complete your collection. Duels, packs, trading and exploration all help fill the album, one new discovery at a time.

Minecraft Java Edition 26.2 · Fabric · Singleplayer, LAN and multiplayer

Complete your card collection

Open the Collection Album with Y by default, or use /yugioh. Track your completion percentage and the number of distinct cards discovered out of 2,263. Collecting another copy helps your decks and trades; discovering a different card advances your album.

The Collection Album with collected cards, NEW markers, search, All cards/Collected/Missing filters and completion progress.

  • Switch between All cards, Collected and Missing to browse your discoveries or see the gaps in your collection.
  • Search discovered cards, scroll through the album and click a collected card for a closer look. Undiscovered cards remain concealed.
  • NEW markers identify discoveries you have not viewed yet.
  • Your discovery record stays with you when cards move into decks or storage, or are traded away. The album tracks discoveries; your actual copies stay in your inventory, decks and Card PC.

The catalog contains 2,013 monsters, 118 Equip Cards and 132 Spell Cards, including compatible cards from Forbidden Memories and The Duelists of the Roses. Eligible vanilla hostile mobs have a 5% card-drop chance; card creatures in Duel Monsters drop their corresponding cards. Vendors, packs, duels and player trading provide more ways to work toward completion.

The cards are the battlefield

The duel board with monster zones, Life Points, an equipped Blue-Eyes White Dragon and a hand of Spell Cards.

Summon monsters, choose attack or defense position, strengthen them with Equip Cards, and pick the right moment to play a spell. The board shows both players' Life Points, their monsters, cards in hand, Decks and Graveyards. Drag cards into play, inspect their artwork and stats, and watch attacks and spell effects unfold across the field.

An Equip Card can change the outcome of a battle. Here, Axe of Despair gives Blue-Eyes White Dragon enough ATK to defeat an opposing Blue-Eyes and deal battle damage.

Dark Hole: pull the field into the abyss

Dark Hole destroys every monster on both sides of the field. Its activation brings the card forward before opening a dark vortex in the middle of the board.

Dark Hole appears over the duel board as its Spell Card effect activates.

Monsters from both rows spiral toward the center, shrinking as the vortex pulls them into the abyss. A crowded board can disappear in a single play—including your own monsters.

Dark Hole pulls the monster cards from both players into a swirling black and purple vortex.

Raigeki and more ways to turn a duel around

Raigeki strikes the opponent's monsters with lightning and clears their field. Other supported spells let you revive a monster with Monster Reborn, draw with Pot of Greed, protect yourself with Swords of Revealing Light, take control of an enemy monster, or summon Tokens with cards such as Scapegoat and Stray Lambs.

Raigeki sends lightning bolts into the opponent's monster zones.

Duels start at 8,000 LP, with a five-card opening hand and five monster zones per player. For PvP, both players bring their decks to the same Duel Table and confirm readiness.

The duel rules are simplified. Monsters use their printed ATK/DEF without individual monster effects, and do not require Tributes or Fusion/Ritual materials. Spells and equipment use the mod's supported, adapted effects. Trap Cards and Ritual Spell Cards are not part of this ruleset.

Turn your collection into a deck

The Deck Building Machine gives you card previews, filters, deck names and access to cards in your inventory or personal Card PC.

Playable decks contain 40–60 cards, with a maximum of three copies per card. Name your deck, browse your available copies, and adjust the balance of monsters, spells and equipment. You can save smaller drafts and finish them later.

Challenge the anime cast

Challenge characters from Duel Monsters and GX across 100 adventure stages. Select an opponent on the scrolling map, preview their signature card, and bring your deck into battle. Win to unlock the next opponent and earn cards.

First victories award three cards, including the character's signature card. Repeat victories award a random card from that opponent's deck. Duelists in generated villages offer additional battles and 10 Starchips per victory, with rematches available.

Card Vendors, Starchips and booster packs

Your next deck upgrade might be waiting in a village. Card Vendors sell individual monster cards and sealed packs through a dedicated shop, with card previews, prices and remaining stock.

Find them in newly generated Duelist Villages, or place a Card Counter for an eligible unemployed villager to take the profession. Duelist Villages can generate in Plains, Sunflower Plains and Meadows. Vendors level up through trading and restock at their workstation; their individual monster selection grows from six offers at Novice to fourteen at Master.

Spend your Starchips

Purchase Cost What you receive
Currency exchange 1 Emerald 100 Starchips
Card Pack 80 Starchips A sealed pack containing 3 random cards
Individual monster Varies by card The exact monster card shown in the offer

Individual offers are monster cards. Packs draw from the full collectible catalog, so they can also contain Spell and Equip Cards.

If you close an unfinished pack or reconnect, its contents are retained. A full inventory blocks a shop purchase that cannot fit without charging you, and overflow from pack openings remains available for recovery.

Store and trade your cards

The Card PC stores your actual card copies in personal storage accessible from any Card PC in the same world or server. The Deck PC stores complete deck items with their names and contents intact.

Cards removed while editing a deck go to the Card PC. On death, loose cards are protected in the Card PC and decks in the Deck PC.

At a Trading Machine, two players can offer cards and Starchips. Both must confirm the current offer; changing it resets confirmation. Received cards go directly to the recipient's Card PC.

Enter Duel Monsters

Build a portal to the dimension where card creatures live. Their card drops give you another way to expand your collection.

Two working-size Duel Monsters frames: an unlit ten-block frame on the left and an activated portal on the right, with English building instructions.

How to build the portal

  1. Craft 10 Duel Monsters Blocks. Each block consumes nine cards in a full crafting grid, so the smallest portal costs 90 card items. They may be identical or different cards; duplicate copies work. See the block recipe below.
  2. Build the frame shown on the left. Place two blocks along the bottom, a three-block pillar on each side of the opening, and two blocks across the top. The whole outline is 4 blocks wide and 5 blocks high, with the four corners omitted. Temporary dirt blocks in the bottom corners can help you place the side pillars; remove them afterward.
  3. Keep the opening empty. The space inside must be 2 blocks wide and 3 blocks high. Use Flint and Steel on the frame beside the opening to activate it, as shown on the right.
  4. Step into the portal. It takes you to Duel Monsters and creates a linked exit for the return trip.

Corners are optional: filling all four makes a 14-block frame, costing 126 card items. Both versions work. Use Duel Monsters Blocks for the frame; the minimum opening is 2 × 3.

Step through to explore magical grasslands, forests, water and underground habitats. Harvest Magic Logs, craft Magic Planks and grow Magic Trees from saplings.

Card monsters come to life

Beyond the duel board, 191 card creature species inhabit Duel Monsters. They have adult and baby forms, animated bodies, species sounds, and habitats across the land, coast, water, sky and caves.

Summoned Skull brings its bone armor, purple musculature, curved horns and broad blue wings into Minecraft.

Blue-Eyes White Dragon flies, walks and folds its wings when grounded. Provoke it from a distance or hide somewhere it cannot reach, and it can charge energy in its mouth for five seconds before firing a white beam. The impact creates a TNT-strength explosion; block destruction follows the world's mob-griefing setting.

Most card creatures are neutral until attacked and drop their corresponding card when killed. The passive Scapegoat comes in four colors and randomly drops either Scapegoat or Stray Lambs. Each species also has separate adult and baby spawn eggs in Creative mode.

Crafting guide

All nine crafting-table recipes are shown below with the game set to English (US). The grids and outputs are rendered by Minecraft's crafting interface; captions identify the ingredients and quantities.

The six machines/tables share a pattern: three Copper or Gold Ingots across the top, four planks around the sides, and one special item in the center. Copper and gold may be mixed; any plank type accepted by the recipe works. The screenshots use mixed metals and Oak Planks as an example. The bottom-center slot stays empty.

Cards and packs are obtained through gameplay, while filled decks are assembled at the Deck Building Machine. They do not have crafting-table recipes. Spawn eggs are available in Creative mode; Magic Grass, Logs, Leaves and Saplings come from the dimension.

Getting started

  1. Collect cards from hostile mobs, card creatures, vendors, packs or adventure rewards.
  2. Open the Collection Album with Y and track your progress toward discovering every card.
  3. Craft a Deck Building Machine and assemble at least 40 cards, with no more than three copies of each.
  4. Hold your deck and use an Adventure Machine for the campaign, or join a friend at a Duel Table.
  5. Add personal PCs and a Trading Machine as your collection grows, then build a portal to Duel Monsters.
