For 1.14:
If you are getting errors on launch saying "no such method" or something similar, you likely need to install kottle.
This mod now requires kottle to run, however the game can NOT detect if kottle is installed.
If you DO have kottle installed but you are still getting an error, please report it as a bug here.
To use a yoyo, right click it and it will throw out. While out, the yoyo will follow where you look and do damage to anything it touches. Right click again to pull it back in.
If you get too far away from a yoyo, you will be pulled towards it.
Crafting
Yoyos need 4 of the desired material, a stick, and a chord to craft a yoyo.
The cords are crafted with 8 string in a circle.
The Shear Yoyo
By combining an iron yoyo with shears, you can give the functionality of shears to your toy-weapon. It allows for the yoyo to cut grass and flowers and plants and stuff and to shear sheep and mooshrooms without damaging them.
The Yohoe
If putting shears on a yoyo made it work like shears, there's no reason putting a hoe on it wouldn't work, right? The Yohoe can harvest crops and replant them, while also tilling any soil that passes underneath it.
The Sticky Yoyo
At the cost of damage, you can combine a diamond yoyo with some sticky slimeballs to allow your toy to stick to blocks. Could be useful for getting around, considering you can reel yourself in and out from the yoyo once it's stuck.
Enchanting
Yoyos can be enchanted just like any weapon. They can have Sharpness, Looting, Unbreaking, etc.
In addition to the vanilla enchantments, yoyos can be enchanted with collecting. Collecting allows yoyos to pick up items, and the number of items it can pick up depends on the level of the enchantment.
Tinkers'
Yoyos and You
I've included an in-game guide book for everything tinkers' yoyos. It has information about all of the modifiers, as well as stats for every material you can use to craft your yoyos.
If you want to have a read, you just need to combine your trusty Materials and You with a yoyo cord.
Building the yoyo
The yoyo is made in the tool forge using an axle, two bodies, and a cord.
The different parts are crafted as usual in a part builder or by casting.
Parts
The cord determines how far away from you the yoyo gets.
The bodies determine the damage and movement speed.
The axle has a durability multiplier.
Both the cord and axle have friction, which determines how long the yoyo can stay out.
Modifiers
- Shear
- Gives the behavior of the shear yoyo to any tinkers' yoyo.
- Applied with shears.
- Farming
- Gives the behavior of the yohoe to any tinkers' yoyo.
- Applied with a diamond hoe.
- Extension
- Each level lengthens the yoyo's cord by 2 blocks.
- Requires 16 string per level.
- Can be applied with string.
- Can be applied with a Cord, counting as 8 string.
- Floating
- Makes the yoyo lighter, allowing it to move faster.
- Applied with a pufferfish.
- Lubricated
- Allows the yoyo to spin for longer, increasing it's duration.
- Applied with an inksack.
- Gluey
- At the cost of damage, allows your yoyo to stick to blocks
- Allows you to reel yourself in
- Applied with two slimeballs
Botania
Yoyos can be made with materials from Botania, and have abilities appropriate for each tier.
First, of course, you need to make some cord out of manastring.
The Manasteel Yoyo
Behaves similarly to a shear yoyo, cutting down shrubs and leaves and such.
The Elementium Yoyo
It can inherently collect items, equivalent to a yoyo with Collecting I. Any further enchantment increases the item limit.
The Terra Chaser
With a whistle and the swing of your fist, it will seek out an enemy and attack it. The Terra Chaser needs mana to do so, however.
It can also be combined with an elementium yoyo to give the Terra Chaser the ability to collect items.
If you think something is too overpowered, underpowered, or broken in general, please, let me know. Balancing is hard to do without any testers.

Please update to 1.16.5. It’s one of my favorite mods of all time
is there any plan to update this too 1.16.5 or newer?
When will you update to 1.16 tho?
locks like terraria XD
Are you considering updating this to newer versions?
I really hope this gets updated to 1.16.5 so it can continue to work with Tinkers.
Update to 1.17.1
Is it possible to make it so it also works with Tetra? I'm looking forward to add this to my modpack
Hey! this mod has a 1.12.2 version that I downloaded, but it says it requires Kottle another mod. The problem is that kottle doesn't have a 1.12.2 version meaning I cant get your mod working. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
In reply to thetreeb0y:
You don't need kottle for 1.12.2
Please, update for 1.16 fabric <3
Its a very perspective modloader with good optimization and graphics (For example, on forge fps=50, on fabric its 750) (Really)
I think, many developers will soon switch to it
In reply to k4dj1t:
I get the same FPS on both mod loaders, but alright.
Also, if you want yoyos for Fabric there's a mod by Draylar called "Babylon" that might do the trick. It says it has yoyos.
In reply to Nova_N4:
More mods are on forge. Plus Tinkers' 1.16 is on forge there is not much point in updating to fabric.
*Terraria Day OST intensifies*
Update to 1.16.4 plss
Can you please update to 1.16.5? I would really like to have yoyos for minecraft because this is the only yoyo mod. PLEASE!!!
In reply to bangtothepow940:
yes
I'm using this with Tinker's, and I noticed the YoYo doesn't actually deal damage based on its own stats, but by whatever you have in the other hand?
When combined with Tinker's Survival, this means if I use the YoYo on its own, it does 0 damage to mobs. I need to have the YoYo in my offhand and a sword in my main hand for it to deal damage.
Is this intentional?
I love those yoyos soooooo much, they fill so good to use. Real nice mod!
pls 1.15.2 i need that to stay alive
