From then on, the darkness keeps track of you. The longer you stay in it, the higher your Tension climbs, and the worse things get.

👁 The Faceless

A pitch-black figure, nearly three blocks tall, with arms that reach past its knees and a grin that glows in the dark.

• It stands far away and watches.
• It only moves while you're not looking. Turn away, and it's closer.
• Look at it too long and it vanishes. Turn around when it's right behind you, and it charges.
• It snuffs out your torches as it passes.

🕷 The Weaver

A towering, hunched, pale man with long black hair, a crooked smile, and eight birch-white spider legs growing out of his back.

• He announces himself with hellish laughter and the words "I'm here".
• While you watch him, he creeps slowly. Look away, and he runs. He climbs walls.
• He fears torchlight.
• If you can't escape, he grabs you and drags you underground into his lair, wraps you in a cocoon of silk and webs, and feeds.
• Friends can save you: hit him hard enough and he lets go.
• Ordinary weapons don't hurt him. Only something forged from light can…

🔪 The Ritual Knife

You'll find a torn note in your inventory with a recipe on it. Hover over it to see the crafting grid.

What happens when you kill The Weaver with it… you'll have to find out yourself.

🌫 Atmosphere

• Very dense fog: grey mist by day, black by night. Creatures emerge from it as they approach.
• Original soundtrack: a detuned music-box lullaby in the menu, creeping drones, metal scraping and distant bells in game.
• Whispers behind your back, a heartbeat when something is near, and a low drone that swells in the dark.
• Footsteps behind you, doors opening on their own, knocking, torches going out.
• Signs that appear behind you: TURN AROUND. I SEE YOU. I WATCHED YOU SLEEP.
• Whispers in chat from <???>. Sometimes in your own name.
• You can't sleep while something is hunting you.
• Jumpscares: distorted faces and cursed photos, sometimes full screen with a scream, sometimes just a single-frame flash. Did you see that?
• A Tension meter in the corner shows how close you are to the next arrival.

⚙ Settings

Everything can be tuned in game: press K or go to Mods → You shouldn't have downloaded this mod → Config.

• Event frequency, tension speed and pauses between events
• Turn any event on or off: footsteps, doors, signs, chat, jumpscares, photos…
• Turn each creature on or off and set when it can appear
• Dense fog, music, heartbeat, camera shake, tension meter

Config files: config/hollowwatcher-common.toml and config/hollowwatcher-client.toml.

🖥 Multiplayer

• Works on dedicated servers. Install the mod on both the server and every client.
• Every player has their own tension and their own stalker.
• Jumpscares, whispers and titles are personal: only the hunted player sees them.

⌨ Commands (operators)

/yshdtm (or /hollowwatcher, /webkiller), each with an optional player or @a:

• scream, photo, photo flash, whisper
• summon faceless|weaver, grab, event, tension <0-600>
