Made for Xiaoxiang Cultivation World 0.2.106 or later, installed beside Xiaoxiang Realm Expansion 1.2.0. Every release names the cultivation mod it was made for, here and on the Mods page, so the pairing is never in doubt.

The very first of its line! Realm Expansion keeps the ground - the layers, the realms, the water - and this mod reaches for everything above it: the real Solar System to fly through and land on, a forge of star-metals with a codex as deep as the periodic table, and an Overworld that finally looks like the cultivation world it always was.

๐Ÿ†• New

๐ŸŒŒ The real Solar System - and space with no loading screen

Look up. Then keep going! Void Incursion has a space of its own: one open, three-dimensional void holding the real Solar System - the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth and the Moon, Mars with Phobos and Deimos, the asteroid belt, Jupiter with Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto, Saturn in its rings with Enceladus and Titan, Uranus with Titania and Oberon, Neptune with Triton, and Pluto with Charon. The planets keep their real order and the real gaps between them, at ten thousand blocks to the astronomical unit (Earth to Mars is 5,200 blocks), and each is its real size against the others - all but the Sun, held smaller so it does not swallow Mars.

And every Xiaoxiang world hangs among them: the Spirit Moon beside Earth's own Moon, Sunscar and Ember close to the Sun, the Nine Peaks past Mars, the Asteroid Belt inside the belt, the Jade Giant beyond it, Ashfall circling Jupiter, Pearlsea, Sporemoor round Saturn, Wildheart, Frostvein round Uranus, Petal Vale, and out past Pluto Starglass, the Comet high over the plane and the Immortal Realm, farthest and highest of all. Every body is drawn at its true size from wherever you are - the nearest largest - lit from the Sun's side, the worlds with air glowing in it, over a sky of two thousand stars.

No loading screen, up or down. Fly up past 600 over the Overworld and you are in space, just over Earth. Dive into the Moon, Mars, the Spirit Moon or the Jade Giant and you come out 550 over its land, still flying, still facing the way you dove, whatever you were riding still under you - and fly up past 600 from any of them and you are back in space beside it. In space everyone flies: forward is wherever you look, twenty blocks a second, a hundred while you sprint, and you weigh nothing at all.

Four worlds to land on, each with its own ground, its own pull and its own air, gas by gas: the Moon, grey dust over andesite, airless, at about a sixth of home's pull; Mars, red sand over terracotta under a thin breath that is nearly all carbon dioxide; the Spirit Moon, moss over prismarine, airless under space's black sky; and the Jade Giant, grass over deepslate under thick air of nitrogen and oxygen, pulling nearly twice as hard as home. Fly at the Sun, a gas giant or any world not yet open to landing and you are held, safe, at the edge of its sky.

Skies that turn. From the ground of the Overworld and of every world you can land on, the other bodies cross the sky as if they orbit, all by one world clock - look for Mars and the Spirit Moon over the Overworld at night. And the new Star Chart (four paper round a compass) shows the whole system from above, every world moving along its orbit by that same clock - run it at x10, x100 or x1,000 and watch the planets race.

Check in game: in a creative world, fly straight up out of the Overworld past 600 - no screen, and you are in space over Earth. Look round for the Sun, the Moon and the Spirit Moon, then sprint at the Moon: you come out 550 over its grey land, still flying. Land, then fly up past 600 and you are in space beside the Moon. Use a Star Chart and try x10, x100 and x1,000. Dive back into Earth and, at night, look for Mars and the Spirit Moon crossing the sky.

โš—๏ธ The Alloy Codex of the Stars

Seventy real elements of the periodic table, each with its symbol, family, colour, melting class and traits. Iron, copper, gold and carbon are the game's own; the rest are refined in the Alloy Crucible from the stones of the worlds - each stone holds a family of elements, and the grade of spirit stone you feed the crucible chooses which one comes out. Ten exotics, found nowhere on any periodic table, belong to this mod alone.

From them come eighty base alloys - sixty real ones and twenty fantastical, up to the finest alloys of alloys - each made plain and steeped with every one of the cultivation world's spirit stones: 3,680 alloys, every one an item of its own, named by rule in English, Spanish and Chinese and painted in its own colour.

  • The Alloy Crucible comes in five grades and works by heat and time on any furnace fuel. The two highest ask for parts made of fine alloys - the Supreme one a coil and plates, the Immortal one a core and gears.
  • Ten kinds of parts are pressed from the ingots of any one alloy, and each keeps the alloy and grade it was made from.
  • The Alloy Codex, a book (a book and an iron ingot): every element and the world stone it is refined from, the table family by family, the exotics and their traits, the naming rule with names it gives, and the crucible's grades and every part - in the reader's own language. Each exotic's tooltip says what it is made from.

๐ŸŒณ A living cultivation world

The Overworld is still the Overworld, but now it looks like a cultivation world! Twelve new biomes take their share of the land beside the old ones:

  • Flower Sea Plains carpeted in flowers of every colour, a Tall Grass Steppe and a Short Grass Meadow.
  • A Bamboo Sea packed so close the light comes green.
  • Five dense forests - Jade Pine, Spirit Maple, Ancient Cedar, Plum Blossom and Mist Willow - each with its own wood, leaves and sapling.
  • Giant mushroom glades, wide Long Shores of sand, and the Heaven-Piercing Woods.

In the Heaven-Piercing Woods the giants grow from 80 to 200 blocks tall, the tallest past the clouds. Round the trunk of the first of each pair stands a two-room tree house with a chest of what its owner left behind, a lookout is hollowed into its crown, one ladder climbs from the roots through both, and a rope bridge runs from the house's door to a landing round the second giant.

Four new flowers bloom across the new land - Dawn Orchid, Ember Peony, Moonpetal and Sunbell - and every wood saws into planks and burns in a forest fire exactly as the game's own woods do. The floating isles, the sect settlements and the ores and beasts of the cultivation world reach the new biomes as they reach every Overworld biome.

Every biome can be switched off, and its share of the land made larger or smaller, in the settings.

Check in game: make a new world and walk a few minutes from where you start - you should cross a Bamboo Sea, a Flower Sea Plains and one of the dense forests (the biome's name shows on the F3 screen). Then find the Heaven-Piercing Woods and climb.

๐Ÿ”ง Changed and rebalanced

๐Ÿ  Everything past the sky gets a home of its own

Space lives here now, and it is made new: its worlds and its Star Chart are this mod's own, and nothing is taken out of Realm Expansion. Realm Expansion keeps everything that belongs on the ground - the layers, the realms, the water and the Myriad Realms - and its spiritual building sets stay there too, steeping and sealing on their own creative tab exactly as before.

Realm Expansion's older space now sleeps: its worlds wait on disk, untouched, and its blocks and items stay in the game (it wakes only if you switch on Space, under Asleep Or Awake on the Space page of its Xiao Universe settings). Its Sky Realm stays awake - step off the islands and you still come down onto the Overworld over the same ground.

๐Ÿ› Fixed

Nothing to mend yet - this is the first release of its own!

๐Ÿšง Being worked on

  • More worlds to land on - the other Xiaoxiang worlds, and Venus, Mercury, Titan, Europa and Io, each a world of its own (work in progress).
  • Skies of their own for the worlds with air (work in progress).
  • Fast travel across the system, set on the Star Chart (work in progress).
  • Telescopes that name the world they look at (work in progress).
  • Terraforming, and breathing by each gas of a world's air (work in progress).
  • The sound of the air rushing past on the way down (work in progress).

โš ๏ธ Known problems

  • The cultivation herbs that the cultivation mod grows only in particular old biomes - the spirit gathering flower of the plains, the peach trees of the forests - do not grow in the new biomes that took part of those lands.
  • The new biomes have their music and the cave mood, but no birdsong or wind of their own yet.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Headed off

  • A world never refuses to be made. The new biomes place their trees, flowers and grasses in the same order as the game's own, so the game never turns down a new world over the order of its plants.
  • An explored world never tears. A change to a biome's share reaches only land not yet explored, so a world you already have keeps what it has and grows the new biomes as you travel into new land.
  • Every recipe can be reached. Every alloy, part and crucible can be made from what the worlds give, and each crucible only from the ones below it.
  • An older save always opens. A save that names a world of a mod you have removed opens all the same: each world no mod gives any more is passed over, named in the log, its ground left on disk for the day its mod comes back. A save that held Realm Expansion's space opens with that space asleep.
  • Nobody is left in a sleeping world. A player saved in one of Realm Expansion's sleeping worlds, or in a world of a mod you have removed, comes home once to the Overworld's spawn - on the ground, never inside rock or over nothing - with one line in chat to say why.
  • Empty space never fills a save. A flight across the system passes through countless chunks of nothing, and not one of them is written to your save - only a chunk you have placed something in.
