What's new

Xiaoxiang Config Extension — 2.1.50

Made for Xiaoxiang Cultivation World 0.1.1480 or later - one file for both of its lines: CurseForge's 0.1.1480 and Modrinth's 0.2 line (0.2.106 and on). Every release names the cultivation mod it was made for, here and on the Mods page, so the pairing is never in doubt.

The release that makes the whole-pack roads, the Golden Finger sets and Realm Expansion's realms do what they say, and draws the screen sharp, in the cultivation mod's own style, on every theme. It grows alongside the newest Realm Expansion and Black Tech. 2.1.49's own notes stay with 2.1.49.

🆕 New

✨ The config screen, sharp, in the cultivation mod's own style

Every colour theme now draws the config screen in the cultivation mod's own window style: each box has the dark outer rim, the lighter rim inside it and the face inside that, its corners stepped round a pixel at a time - the window itself, every row, every button, the scroll bars, the right-click menu and the popups. Each theme keeps its own colours and its own moving scene behind the window, and Cultivation World keeps the cultivation mod's painted look.

Nothing on the screen is soft any more. No letter has a shadow, whoever wrote it; nothing glows or breathes round a tab or a button; no tab, menu or window casts a shadow or wears a dark halo; and the world behind the screen is dimmed with one flat shade instead of being handed to the game's own background, which another mod may blur. Every edge is a whole pixel, which is far easier on the eyes over a long sitting.

There is no setting for it - the sharp look is the look. The old choice between a sharp, a shadowed and an outlined text edge is gone from the theme window; the text brightness dial stays.

📐 The Builder's Rule: whole walls in one stroke

The Config Extension's first item, and a builder's best friend. Craft the Builder's Rule from a stick, an iron ingot and a string, hold it in one hand (F tucks it into your off hand) with a block in the other, then right-click a block and drag: a line, a wall, a floor, a box, a hollow box, a circle or a cylinder is drawn faintly in the world before a single block is placed - red where one cannot go, amber past the last block you are carrying - and set down the moment you let go. N, or sneaking and turning the wheel with the Rule in hand, moves through the shapes; the action bar names the one you are on. A box and a cylinder take one more click for their height, a left click cancels, and one setting turns the drag into click to start, click to end.

Every block goes down exactly as your own right-click would put it: stairs face the way you face, logs lie the way you clicked, spawn protection and other players' claims hold firm, and in survival the blocks come out of your inventory - the stack in your hand first - stopping where they run out. [ undoes your last shape and hands its blocks back; ] sets it down again. In creative, hold Left Alt as a shape begins to clear it instead. Its page is Vanilla > Building: the most blocks a shape may hold (1,000 in survival, 10,000 in creative), its reach (60 blocks) and how many shapes are kept to undo (20).

🔧 Changed and rebalanced

🏯 Every realm has its tab, every setting its page

With Realm Expansion installed, its Expansion tab has a page for every realm it configures - MORTAL, Qi Refining and on through Tribulation Transcendence, each with its total, its sub-stages and all thirteen of its layers - beside its Layer Rewards page and the Heaven Realms tab for the immortal realms.

A setting a companion mod adds to one of its tabs without naming the page it belongs on now turns up on the page nearest it, under More Settings, instead of on no page at all. Realm Expansion's newest spiritual water settings - its catalysts, its glow, its rarer pools and more - are on the Spiritual Water page that way.

☀️ The Sun Gatherer on the roads

The Sun Gatherer's row on the whole-pack roads follows Black Tech's new, gentler sunlight: two a tick as it ships, ten on the Gentle Road.

🎁 Every Golden Finger start names only perks that do something

Humble Gifts brings a vein of qi stone near home in place of the head start, Rising Talent richer qi absorption in place of the third spirit root, and Spirit Stone Hoard really gives its 99 spirit stones.

🐛 Fixed

🖱️ Every inventory key and click answers for itself

The game takes the handlers of a mod's keys and clicks by their names, and a good many of this mod's came out with the same name as another - so the game ran one and quietly passed the others over. The sort key and the middle-click sort, quick stack, the search line's typing, the trash slot, the inventory's wheel, the identity grid's clicks and drags, auto-refill and the crouch-to- meditate key each now answer on their own, as they always should have.

🛤️ The whole-pack roads take hold

Gentle Road, Standard Road and Immortal Trial now change what they say they change, at once and for good. Choosing Immortal Trial sets the cultivation mod's own difficulty to inferno for every player, and every other setting the road lists - in this mod, in Realm Expansion and in Black Tech - moves with it the moment you press, and is still there after a restart. A machine of Black Tech's takes its new figures straight away instead of at the next launch.

Black Tech's settings that live in its second, third and fourth files are reachable again, so their rows on the roads (and on Black Tech's own pages) are no longer passed over.

On a server, an operator's press is taken by the server too, so the road reaches the copy every player plays by; anyone else is told that only an operator can change the server's settings. An operator can also type /configext road gentle, standard or trial. A double click on Apply no longer undoes the road it has just taken.

🎁 Golden Finger sets give what they name

Choosing a set on the Golden Finger pane of the presets window now gives exactly its perks, once each, with all their effects. Pressed while you play, the set is yours as well as the next new character's: its perks take hold at once, and a perk that puts something in your hands - a sword, a storage bag, a purse of spirit stones - is handed over once and never twice, whatever you press after.

Choosing a second set takes the first one's effects back and nothing else: a whole-pack road taken in between, or a value you typed on a page, stays as you left it.

🚧 Being worked on

  • A pinned tooltip's window keeps its own fixed colours rather than the theme's box (work in progress).

⚠️ Known problems

Nothing new known. If anything misbehaves, a report with your latest.log (and, for a crash, the crash report) helps.

🛡️ Headed off

Nothing this time.
