Description

An infestation that grows with your world
Ovomorphosis brings an alien life cycle into Minecraft through exploration, infection, and hive growth.
Discover infested structures containing dormant ovomorphs. Survive facehugger attacks. Watch infected hosts give rise to chestbursters. Hunt down xenomorphs before they cover the surrounding area in resin and turn captured mobs into new ovomorphs.
The threat is not just another hostile mob.
It grows. It spreads. And the longer it survives, the harder it becomes to contain.

At a glance
- Full alien life cycle — Ovomorph → Facehugger → Infected Host → Chestburster → Xenomorph
- Host infection — Facehuggers can use ordinary mobs to continue the life cycle
- Hive growth — Xenomorphs spread resin and transform the surrounding environment
- Eggmorphing — Captured mobs can become part of the infestation
- Exploration-driven encounters — Infestations begin in structures instead of ordinary random mob spawns
- Escalating threat — A small infestation can become a dangerous hive if ignored
- Multiplayer support — Designed for both singleplayer worlds and servers
The alien life cycle
1. Discover the infestation
The threat begins through exploration.
Certain structures can already show signs of alien activity, including resin growth and dormant ovomorphs. Finding an infestation early gives you the best chance of containing it before the life cycle begins.
2. Ovomorphs hatch
Ovomorphs are the starting point of the infestation.
When disturbed or given the opportunity to hatch, they release facehuggers that seek out living hosts.
3. Hosts become infected
Facehuggers can infect ordinary mobs and turn them into part of the alien life cycle.
An infected host may eventually produce a chestburster, allowing the infestation to continue even after the original facehugger is gone.
4. Chestbursters mature
Chestbursters represent the early growth stage of the creature.
If they are allowed to survive, the infestation can eventually produce much more dangerous xenomorphs.
5. The hive expands
Xenomorphs do more than hunt.
They can spread resin, expand their territory, and create a hostile hive environment. Captured mobs can be used for eggmorphing, creating new opportunities for the infestation to spread.
A single overlooked ovomorph can eventually become an entire hive.
Finding an infestation
Ovomorphosis is designed around discovery rather than constant random spawning.
As you explore, watch for:
- Unusual resin growth
- Ovomorphs
- Infested structures
- Captured or infected mobs
- Signs of an expanding hive
Finding one of these areas early gives you a chance to destroy the infestation before it progresses.
Ignore it for too long, and the life cycle may continue without you.

Surviving the infestation
Ovomorphosis is about recognizing and stopping a threat before it becomes a much larger problem.
Destroy ovomorphs before they hatch. Deal with infected hosts before the life cycle progresses. Hunt chestbursters before they mature. And if resin begins spreading through an area, assume the infestation has already become serious.
The longer a hive is allowed to exist, the more difficult it becomes to remove.
Contain it early or prepare to deal with what comes next.
