- Instant Smelt affected anything with a smelting recipe, not just ores — mining sand or clay while holding it quietly turned them into glass or bricks. Restricted to actual ore blocks.
- Instant Smelt (and Cooked Kills) still showed the raw item for a moment before it turned smelted/cooked — the correction was arriving as a separate packet after the item had already been sent to the client once. On 26.2, this is now truly instant: the block's own loot is rewritten before any item ever spawns, so the client only ever sees the smelted version.
