Would You Rather By Buraca27 (WYRBB)

Every so often, you’re forced to choose between two permanent trade-offs. Stats change, controls shift, and visuals glitch. Both halves take effect immediately and neither wears off. How long can you survive the mess you build?

What's new

Fixed

  • Zoom, Locked Lens, and Seasick did not work on the 26.2 build — the field of view every part of rendering reads was never actually sourced from Camera.getFov(); the real per-frame value was computed and written straight to the camera's own field instead, bypassing the getter our mixin overrode. Fixed by redirecting the actual render-path call instead of the dead getter.
  • Wall Crawler never triggered, on any version — it relied on Entity#horizontalCollision, which is set from whatever the client last reports and in practice never reads true for a player pressed into a wall. 26.2 now checks the player's held movement keys against a real block probe; 1.21.1 (Fabric and Forge), which lack that input API, check look direction against a block probe instead.

Added

  • Liar's Eyes disguises are now randomized rather than a fixed handful of Overworld blocks — every non-ore block gets a randomly assigned stand-in the first time it's seen. Ore disguises (iron → stone, diamond → deepslate, coal → diamond) are unchanged and still fixed.
  • Half Blind — half your screen goes dark, never fully opaque, deepening with stacks.
  • Frostbound Steps — still water freezes over as you cross it.
  • Thawing Steps — snow and ice give way under you as you pass.
  • Ore Sense — the nearest vein gives itself away with a direction and a distance.
  • Blooming Wake — grass and flowers spring up in your footsteps.
  • Withering Wake — grass and flowers die where you stand.
  • Quake Steps — the ground genuinely cracks apart under and around your feet as you walk.
  • Kindler's Touch — flammable blocks near you occasionally catch fire.
  • Storm-Called — real lightning strikes near you, now and then.
  • A Forge port for 1.21.1 will be deployed soon — same traits, same dilemmas, same trades.
