🌍 World Weather and Climate Mod
World Weather and Climate Mod (WWCM) brings a persistent calendar, dynamic climate, seasonal conditions, and meaningful weather effects to Minecraft 1.20.1.
Instead of treating weather and seasons as purely visual systems, WWCM turns them into a living part of your world. Track the current date, season, climate, humidity, soil fertility, weather conditions, and special events through an elegant in-game HUD or the interactive Calendar item.
WWCM can work completely standalone or integrate with Serene Seasons when installed.
✨ Features
📅 A Complete World Calendar
WWCM adds a persistent calendar system to your Minecraft world. The calendar automatically progresses as the world advances and keeps track of:
-
Days
-
Months
-
Years
-
Days of the week
-
Seasons
-
Seasonal phases
-
Day of the year
-
Leap years
The length of a year is configurable, with 365 days by default. The calendar is managed by the server and synchronized with all connected players.
📆 Seasonal Phases
Every season is divided into three phases: Early, Mid, and Late. This allows the climate to gradually change throughout the year instead of simply switching from one season to another.
🌦️ Dynamic Climate
The climate of your world changes throughout the year according to the current month and season. WWCM deliberately avoids exposing raw numerical climate values. Instead, the player receives clear qualitative information.
🌡️ Temperature
-
Cold
-
Mild
-
Hot
💧 Humidity
-
Extremely Dry
-
Dry
-
Normal
-
Humid
-
Extremely Humid
🌱 Soil Fertility
-
Extremely Infertile
-
Infertile
-

-
Fertile
-
Extremely Fertile
This makes climate information immediately understandable without requiring the player to interpret temperatures, percentages, or other numerical values.
☀️ Seasonal Climate Conditions
Certain periods of the year can produce active climate conditions that directly affect the world.
🏜️ Droughts
Droughts can occur during specific climatic periods and have three levels: Drought, Moderate Drought, and Severe Drought.
During a drought:
-
Farmland dries faster
-
Rainfall is suppressed
-
Nearby water does not automatically rehydrate affected farmland
-
The severity of the drought determines its overall impact
🌧️ Rainy Periods
Rainy periods also have three levels: Humid Period, Heavy Rain Period, and Extreme Rain Period.
During rainy periods, WWCM can force and intensify actual rainfall in the world. Extreme rainy periods may also produce thunderstorms. All of these effects can be individually configured.
🌱 Climate Affects Gameplay
Climate isn't just information on a screen. WWCM connects environmental conditions to actual gameplay systems.
Soil Fertility → Crop Growth
Soil fertility directly influences crop growth. Fertile conditions accelerate crop growth, normal conditions provide normal growth, and infertile conditions slow crop growth.
Drought → Farmland
Drought conditions affect farmland moisture. During droughts, farmland loses moisture more quickly and is prevented from being naturally rehydrated by rainfall or nearby water.
Rainy Periods → Actual Weather
Rainy periods influence the actual weather of the world. Depending on the current conditions, WWCM can increase rainfall, force rainfall, intensify rainy periods, or trigger thunderstorms during extreme conditions.
These gameplay effects can be enabled or disabled independently.
🌎 Hemisphere System
WWCM supports both hemispheres. You can configure your world as:
-
Northern Hemisphere
-
Southern Hemisphere
Seasonal climate patterns are automatically inverted between hemispheres. This allows the same calendar system to represent different seasonal cycles. The selected hemisphere is stored persistently in the world.
🌿 Serene Seasons Integration
WWCM is designed to work alongside Serene Seasons. When Serene Seasons is installed, WWCM automatically integrates its calendar and seasonal systems.
With Serene Seasons installed:
-
The WWCM calendar is synchronized with Serene Seasons
-
Changing the world date also updates the Serene Seasons season
-
Seasonal transitions remain synchronized
-
WWCM can use the official Serene Seasons calendar artwork
-
The Calendar item receives 12 monthly visual variations
Without Serene Seasons:
WWCM uses its own built-in seasonal system. Serene Seasons is completely optional. You can use WWCM as a standalone calendar and climate system without requiring another seasonal mod.
🖥️ Climate HUD
WWCM includes a fully configurable in-game HUD. The HUD provides a quick overview of the current state of the world without requiring the player to open a menu. It can display:
-
Day of the week
-
Current date
-
Current season
-
Seasonal phase
-
Hemisphere
-
Temperature
-
Humidity
-
Soil fertility
-
Active climate conditions
-
Events occurring today
The HUD uses colors and visual hierarchy to make important information immediately readable.
⚙️ HUD Configuration
Press F8 to open the HUD configuration screen. You can:
-
Enable or disable the HUD
-
Change its position
-
Change its scale
-
Restore the default settings
The HUD supports 6 different positions: Top Left, Top Center, Top Right, Bottom Left, Bottom Center, and Bottom Right. It can also be completely disabled if you prefer a cleaner interface.
🗓️ The Calendar Item
WWCM adds a dedicated Calendar item to the Creative inventory. Right-click the Calendar to open a complete calendar interface.
The GUI displays:
📆 Calendar
-
Current year
-
Current date
-
Day of the year
-
Day of the week
-
Monthly calendar grid
-
Current day highlighted
-
Events occurring today
🌦️ Climate Panel
-
Current season
-
Seasonal phase
-
Hemisphere
-
Temperature
-
Humidity
-
Soil fertility
-
Active climate conditions
The Calendar item also features dynamic artwork. When Serene Seasons is installed, the Calendar uses the corresponding official monthly artwork, providing 12 different visual variations throughout the year.
🎉 Events & Special Dates
WWCM includes a built-in event system for special dates. The calendar automatically recognizes:
Date | Event
January 1 | New Year's Day
March 15 | Harvest Day
Easter | Easter
June 21 | Winter Solstice
September 4 | Fish Day
September 21 | Peace Day
October 31 | Halloween
December 21 | Summer Solstice
December 25 | Christmas
Easter is calculated dynamically using the Gregorian Easter algorithm rather than being assigned to a fixed date.
🎊 Custom Events
Server administrators can create their own commemorative dates. This can be used for:
-
Server anniversaries
-
Community events
-
Festivals
-
Special celebrations
-
Roleplay events
-
Lore dates
-
Player birthdays
-
Custom holidays
Custom events are stored persistently in the world and appear automatically on the calendar when their date arrives.
⌨️ Commands
WWCM provides the /calendar command family:
