I (Eleksploded) and currently working on porting to 1.13.2 and beyond. Have some patience, 1.13.2+ isn't easy. I could back-port if desired but will take a while as well.

You can now smelt one item per furnace in a wooden furnace.
Why?
I think the main use could be for hardcore modding packs, where the user can not build a furnace at the direct begin.
