Description
Wood Paneling
Stripping wood with an axe now drops Panel items of the same wood type that can be placed on almost any surface for decoration or used in crafting to create log and wood block variants for all wood types, including wood from other mods.
Items
For each wood variant, this mod adds:
- <WoodType*> Panel - A 1px thick item with the texture of that wood bark/skin that can be placed on surfaces. Panel blocks use a connected texture to cover corners with the same wood texture, or show the live edge for different wood types.
- Log Recipes for each wood-type variant. StrippedLog + 4 x Panel => Log
- Wood Recipes for each wood-type variant. StrippedWood | StrippedLog + 6 x Panel => Wood
- Wood types have to match, so you can't cheat and convert Birch into Dark Oak.
- Panels with shared interior corners break together (unfortunately like Glow Lichen, etc.) but drop all the broken items (unlike Glow Lichen… I'm not bitter)
* Should work with wood types from other mods as long as they are strippable and the textures can be found.
Origin
If you've ever accidentally stripped a log (trying to place a torch from my offhand on a log… ARRRHRHHRHGHGHGHG) then this mod was made for you (i.e. me… who does this all the time and gets frustrated at what it takes to fix it).
With Panels you can either place them over the stripped block or re-craft that log using the panels it dropped!!! (crafting table required, sorry.)
Also, I've wanted to have wood exteriors without wood interiors and vice versa (without a two block thick wall that is). Now you can have bark on the outside and concrete on the inside without all the extra footprint. Panels also make great floors.
(Also sorry for all the parentheses.)
