Winged Mounts

Winged Mounts adds elytra saddles for tamed adult horses. Charge and release a normal horse jump, then press jump again while airborne to deploy the wings. Look to steer and use firework rockets to boost. The horse keeps gliding after the boost ends.

Crafting and repairs

Craft the Elytra Saddle with one saddle, one elytra, one leather, and four feathers.

Dismount and sneak-right-click the grounded horse with a phantom membrane to repair the equipped saddle. One membrane restores 108 durability by default (25%). An exhausted saddle can finish its current glide and needs a repair before the next takeoff.

End ship saddles

All 19 saddle styles can appear in End ship chests. The 18 themed styles are loot-only in Survival. A ship can yield at most one saddle across its two chests. With Lootr, that limit applies separately to each player by default.

Flight and combat

Horses bank into turns and face their direction of travel. At speed, trails follow the wing tips. By default, mounting from first person switches to rear third person, and dismounting restores first person.

Hold a steep dive and hit solid ground to trigger a shockwave. It damages hostile mobs by default and leaves terrain and dropped items intact. Player damage is enabled by default, follows world PvP and team rules, and can be turned off separately.

Configuration and compatibility

The server config controls flight speed, durability, repair materials, crafting, loot rates for each style, and dive damage. Players can set their own camera and visual preferences.

Install the mod on both the client and server for multiplayer. It currently supports tamed adult horses. JEI and Lootr are optional. With JEI installed, you can look up the Elytra Saddle recipe, field repairs, and End ship treasure.
