Wilder Wilderness Bound
Made for Minecraft 26.3.
The wilderness is colder, stranger, and significantly less interested in your survival.
Wilder Wilderness Bound expands forests, frozen biomes, and forgotten places with venomous wildlife, dangerous freezing, new woodwork, environmental details, and abandoned structures waiting to be explored.
Features
🕷️ Venom Spiders
- Spawn throughout forests, taigas, and Nether forests.
- Climb walls and attack when angered, inflicting Venom.
- Burrow into logs, hollowing them out and making a home inside.
- Break an infested log and its resident will emerge very unhappy.
☠️ Venom
- Deals direct damage over time and, unlike normal Poison, can kill.
- Venom Spiders drop Fangs and Venom Sacks.
- Brew Venom Sacks into Potions of Venom.
- Combine weapons with Venom Sacks to impregnate them with venom.
- Venom-impregnated weapons inflict Venom on hit, with additional sacks increasing its duration.
🗡️ Fang Dagger
- Craft a fast dagger using string, a stick, and a Venom Spider Fang.
- Hold use to charge a forward lunge.
- Land a lunge attack from behind for a devastating backstab.
- Lunge enchantments increase your launch distance.
❄️ Real Freezing
- Exposure to cold biomes gradually builds up freeze.
- Snowfall makes freezing faster, while leather armor provides protection.
- Powder snow and Stray arrows build freeze rapidly.
- Fully frozen creatures cannot move, attack, jump, use items, or even turn.
- Remain frozen for too long and the ice itself begins dealing damage.
🔥 Ways to Thaw
- Campfires, lit furnaces, lava, magma, and fire reduce accumulated freeze.
- The Nether rapidly thaws frozen creatures.
- Brew Frost Resistance using ice to become immune to freezing.
- Dragons and Withers are apparently too dramatic to freeze.
✨ Permafrost
- A level III weapon enchantment that builds freeze on hit.
- Works with both melee attacks and projectiles.
- Some Strays can spawn wielding Permafrost-enchanted bows.
🪵 Hollow Logs
- Hollow variants exist for every log type, including stripped logs and Nether stems.
- Place a full block inside a Hollow Log to conceal it.
- Stored blocks retain their light emission and make the log solid.
- Punch the log to retrieve the hidden block.
- If the log is caught in an explosion, the stored block is destroyed instead, saving the log.
🧱 Wood Bits
- Every wood type has matching Bit blocks.
- Each Bit occupies one eighth of a block.
- Place up to eight Bits within the same block space.
🌨️ Snowlogging
- Fences and small plants can hold snow instead of being replaced by it.
- Snowfall naturally covers exposed snowloggable blocks.
- Breaking the snow covering returns a snowball.
🌿 Grass Slabs
- Craft Grass Slabs from Grass Blocks.
- They blend naturally into grassy terrain.
- Step on one and it breaks.
Nothing suspicious about that last part.
🏚️ Abandoned Towers
- Discover ruined towers scattered throughout the world, including snowy variants.
- Explore their crumbling floors and abandoned interiors.
- Search them for useful supplies and loot.
- They make surprisingly good starter bases, assuming you don't mind the previous owner being mysteriously absent.
A Few Words of Advice
Do not trust a hollow log that makes spider noises.
Do not stand in a blizzard without a source of heat.
And if a Stray is carrying a glowing bow...
run before you become lawn furniture. ❄️🗿
